SpiceJet seeks more women-power to power its flights!
Conducts an all-exclusive recruitment drive to hire women pilots this International Women’s Day

Gurugram, March 7, 2018: This International Women’s Day, SpiceJet, in a first of its kind initiative, is conducting an exclusive recruitment drive for women pilots for its Boeing 737 and Bombardier Q400 fleet.

The country’s favourite airline is seeking more women-power to power its flights and towards its ultimate goal of increasing the strength of its women cockpit crew to one-third of the total number of pilots at SpiceJet.

The airline has extended an open invite to women pilots across the country as part of the recruitment program which is scheduled for March 7 & 8, 2018 and is open for both Captains and first officers, having a valid commercial pilot license.

An all-women selection board consisting of the airline’s management lady pilots will conduct the interviews. With no examination fees attached, the hand-picked candidates will be given the offer letter the very same day with due diligence towards the airline’s esteemed selection standards.

The interviews are being held at the SpiceJet Training Academy in Gurugram.

As part of the many flexible policies offered to women pilots at SpiceJet, the airline offers home base as a choice to all women pilots, including the new joinees, thus allowing them to strike the right balance between their professional and personal life. Besides women pilots once declared on maternity leave are given the option for a suitable ground job to offset for the additional off time post-delivery.

Women pilots are also offered a fixed monthly flying pattern that ensures they get back home at the end of the day. They are also offered special contracts allowing them to fly at their own convenience.

The selection process, depending on the experience, will include interviews and psychometric assessment.

SpiceJet will operate three special flights with all women cockpit and cabin crew on the occasion of International Women’s Day. Women passengers travelling alone will be given priority for upgrade, check-in and for boarding. On-board complimentary hot beverage (with complimentary cookies) will be offered to all women passengers on all Boeing and Q-400 flights.
