Excess baggage can be added from the add-ons page while booking your flight ticket through our website www.spicejet.com, mobile app and reservation centre.

To add extra baggage to your existing booking, simply fill in your details in the next section. Once your flight ticket is retrieved, you will be directed to the add-ons page, where you can find options to add excess baggage for checked-in or cabin baggage.

  3. What happens if I exceed my pre-purchased baggage allowance at the airport?
    If you surpass your pre-purchased baggage allowance at the airport, you will need to settle the excess baggage fees at the applicable airport rates.
  4. Are there any restrictions on the items that can be included in my pre-purchased excess baggage?

  1. Each Excess Baggage component is non-cancellable individually.
  2. Passengers are allowed one piece of hand baggage weighing up to 7 kg, free of charge. The dimensions must adhere to 55 cm + 35 cm + 25 cm (L+W+H; total 115 cm) for Boeing flights and 50 cm + 35 cm + 23 cm (L+W+H; total 108 cm or 42.5 inches) for Q400 flights.
  3. Additional items such as laptop bags, ladies' purses, or duty-free shopping bags are permitted as long as the total cabin baggage weight does not exceed 7 kg.
  4. Hand baggage exceeding the 7 kg limit will incur charges based on prevailing rates.
  5. Passengers with infants can carry an extra piece of hand baggage weighing up to 7 kg, adhering to the specified size dimensions.
  6. Checked-in baggage allowance includes one piece of free baggage weighing up to 15 kg with overall dimensions of 158 cm (L+W+H) for domestic flights. International flights allow two free checked-in baggage pieces based on sector-specific weight allowances.
  7. Passengers sharing the same PNR can combine their checked baggage; however, each bag's weight must not exceed 32 kg per airport baggage restrictions.
  8. Pre-paid excess baggage, once purchased, cannot be cancelled or partially used. For example, if a passenger buys 5 kg of excess baggage but decides not to carry any, the purchase remains non-cancellable. Similarly, if a passenger purchases 5 kg of excess baggage but only uses 4 kg, the remaining 1 kg is non-transferable, non-refundable and non-reusable.
  9. SpiceJet will not be responsible for, or have any liability regarding, articles removed from passengers' baggage by airport security personnel following applicable regulations.   10. Carry More On-Board (excess hand baggage) allows a maximum purchase of 5 kg additional baggage weight, making the total cabin baggage weight not exceed 12 kg, inclusive of laptops and duty-free shopping bags.
  11. International connection baggage allowance is provided once per itinerary. For example, if a passenger has an inbound SpiceJet flight from an international sector and a connecting flight within 24 hours to a different destination, the international baggage allowance applies only once under the same PNR.
