Gurgaon, April 25, 2015: Earlier today a major earthquake struck Nepal
near Kathmandu, with strong tremors felt across all of Northern India. As per initial
reports, there is significant damage in Nepal. We pray for the safety of everyone in
the affected areas.
Due to the earthquake, Kathmandu Airport is currently closed and SpiceJet's flights to
Kathmandu are on hold. Passengers travelling to Nepal should check with SpiceJet before
heading for the airport – information will be available on www.spicejet.com,
through our call center, and through our Twitter handle. All change and cancel fees
will be waived for today and the next three days to begin with.
We are also preparing to support relief agencies with the transportation of emergency
materials to Kathmandu from Delhi on our flights once they resume. Details to follow.
Updates will be available throughout the day through our official Twitter handle,
