GURUGRAM, September 12, 2018: India’s favourite carrier - SpiceJet, in
its endeavor to connect Uttar Pradesh like never before, today announced the launch of
four new direct flights from the State.
Reiterating its commitment towards increasing air connectivity on regional routes,
SpiceJet will be the first and only airline to offer daily direct flights on the routes
of Mumbai-Kanpur-Mumbai and Kolkata-Kanpur-Kolkata. SpiceJet will also launch flights
connecting the Holy city of Varanasi with Kolkata and Bengaluru.
The announcement was made in the august presence of Shri Yogi Adityanath, Hon’ble Chief
Minister of Uttar Pradesh. On the occasion, Debojo Maharshi, Chief Marketing Officer,
SpiceJet, handed over the first ticket to Shri Yogi Adityanath, thereby marking the
formal announcement of the launch of the new flight service.
Shri Yogi Adityanath has taken a keen interest in increasing air connectivity to Uttar
Pradesh and has constantly encouraged SpiceJet and other airlines towards achieving
this goal. SpiceJet aims to continue to aggressively expand its network connecting
Uttar Pradesh to other domestic destinations and beyond.
Shilpa Bhatia, Chief Sales and Revenue Officer, SpiceJet said, “SpiceJet is delighted to
launch multiple new flights from Uttar Pradesh. These new flights connecting key
non-metros with metro cities, once again reaffirms our faith and belief in the
potential of regional markets. We are confident that enhanced air connectivity will add
further impetus to the rapid growth rate of the state’s economy.”
SpiceJet celebrated the launch by announcing an introductory promotional fare on the
routes with fares starting as low as INR 3899 (all inclusive) on the
Bangalore-Varanasi-Bangalore route, INR 4199 (all inclusive) on the Mumbai-Kanpur
route, INR 4099 on the Kanpur-Mumbai route, INR 3899 on the Kolkata-Varanasi route, INR
3589 on the Varanasi-Kolkata route, INR 3900 on the Kolkata-Kanpur route and INR 3299
on the Kanpur-Kolkata route. The airline will deploy its Bombardier Q400 on the
Kolkata-Varanasi-Kolkata route whereas all the other sectors will be served by its
Boeing aircraft.
The new flights connecting Varanasi will be immensely beneficial for the scores of
pilgrims travelling to the Holy city from all over India and abroad.
