Gurgaon, February 7th, 2014: SpiceJet Ltd today announced the appointment
of Mr. Kaneswaran Avili (“Kanesh”) as its Chief Commercial Officer (CCO).
Mr. Avili comes to SpiceJet with deep experience in the aviation sector. He has
worked for 12 years in the highly competitive world of low cost airlines in Asia,
and was part of the start up team of AirAsia in 2001.
At AirAsia, Mr. Avili played a pivotal role in the airline’s cross border brand
expansion into Thailand and Indonesia. He then partnered the founders of AirAsia
to start no frills hotel chain –TuneHotels-- and financial services business --Tunemoney.
After successful launch of TuneHotels and Tunemoney, Mr Avili moved to become an
independent aviation consultant and took up various consultancy assignments in Macau,
Thailand, Philippines and Indonesia, before joining Tigerair in Singapore as its
Commercial Director in 2012.
“His deep domain knowledge on airline commercial across sales & distribution, revenue
management, marketing, network planning, airline system and market penetration strategy
would be key in transforming SpiceJet commercial capability and improving overall
route and airline profitability,” said Mr. Sanjiv Kapoor, Chief Operating Officer,
SpiceJet Ltd.

said Mr. Kaneswaran Avili, who will be taking up the role with effective 1st April
2014.
