- Shaniwar Wada
Built in 1736 by Peshwa Bajirao I, Shaniwar Wada was once the erstwhile residence
of the Peshwas. A seven storied structure once, it was gutted by a fire in the palace
and only the fortification walls with five gateways and nine bastions are left.
Located in the narrow winding old part of the city, this palace is open from 8 am
to 6.30 pm. The Light & Sound show in the evenings is one of the most spectacular
events in Pune.
