GURUGRAM, March 31, 2019:SpiceJet, the country’s favourite carrier, today launched 14 new UDAN flights connecting the un-served market of Jharsuguda and the underserved markets of Kishangarh and Lakhimpur to key metros and cities across the country. In addition, the airline launched 14 other direct flights connecting metros and non-metros on domestic routes.
Reaffirming, the airline’s conviction on the Regional Connectivity Scheme, SpiceJet has started operating on the new UDAN routes of Kishangarh-Ahmedabad-Kishangarh, Lakhimpur-Guwahati-Lakhimpur, Jaipur-Amritsar-Jaipur, Delhi-Jharsuguda-Delhi, Hyderabad-Jharsuguda-Hyderabad, Kolkata-Jharsuguda-Kolkata and Bhopal-Udaipur-Bhopal from March 31.
SpiceJet, the largest regional player in the country, is further enhancing its domestic footprint with direct flights on the Mumbai-Bhopal-Mumbai, Mumbai-Gorakhpur-Mumbai, Chennai-Patna-Chennai, Delhi-Bhopal-Delhi (two new flights), Jaipur-Dharamshala-Jaipur and Surat-Bhopal-Surat sectors.

Ajay Singh, Chairman and Managing Director, SpiceJet said: “With the addition of 14 new UDAN flights, SpiceJet will operate a total of 33 daily flights under the regional connectivity scheme. We are the first and the largest participant in the UDAN scheme providing air connectivity to the remotest corners of India – something that was unthinkable till a few years back. Providing our fellow citizens affordable air connectivity is an achievement we are all very proud of. In the days and weeks ahead, SpiceJet will continue to prioritise and add more UDAN destinations taking air travel to the smaller towns and cities which has been our constant endeavour since we began operations 15 years back.”
SpiceJet is the first Indian carrier to connect the un-served market of Jharsuguda which is the airline’s 10th destination under UDAN and also marks the airline’s maiden entry into Odisha, the country’s top investment and manufacturing hub.
The new flights enables the airline to connect Jharsuguda, Kishangarh, Lakhimpur and Bhopal like never before and reinforce the airline’s network strength across the country besides reiterating its focus on augmenting connectivity between metro and non-metro cities. SpiceJet will service the UDAN and non-UDAN routes with a mix of its fleet of Boeing 737 and Bombardier Q-400 aircraft.
With the 14 additions, SpiceJet now operates 33 daily flights under UDAN on the Kishangarh-Ahmedabad-Kishangarh, Lakhimpur-Guwahati-Lakhimpur, Jaipur-Amritsar-Jaipur, Delhi-Jharsuguda-Delhi, Hyderabad-Jharsuguda-Hyderabad, Kolkata-Jharsuguda-Kolkata, Bhopal-Udaipur-Bhopal, Delhi-Kishangarh-Delhi, Kolkata-Pakyong-Kolkata, Mumbai-Porbandar, Mumbai-Kandla-Mumbai, Hyderabad-Puducherry-Hyderabad, Jaipur-Jaisalmer-Jaipur, Delhi-Adampur-Delhi, Ahmedabad-Jaisalmer-Ahmedabad, Surat-Jaisalmer-Surat and Delhi-Kanpur-Delhi sectors. This is the highest number of flights being operated by any Indian airline under the regional connectivity scheme.
Passengers travelling from non-metros like Lakhimpur, Jharsuguda, Bhopal, Jaipur, Gorakhpur and Udaipur among others will be able to easily travel to a host of other cities both on SpiceJet’s domestic as well as international network via multiple onward connections from key metros.
