GURUGRAM, June 1, 2023: SpiceJet, the country’s favourite airline, known for its hot, delicious and exciting food and beverage offerings has launched an exclusive in-flight menu specially curated by globally renowned Indian chef, Vikas Khanna, to support girl child education and overall empowerment.

The exclusive meal offering by the Michelin-star chef, Vikas Khanna, will feature a choice of curated vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals such as Chicken Aloo Bukhara Biryani & Vegetable Biryani and Chicken Khurchan Roll & Paneer Bhurji Roll.

A significant part of the proceeds collected from the sale of these exclusive meals will go to Mijwan Welfare Society, an NGO that works in India towards empowering girls by educating them and enabling them to stand on their own feet.

Speaking on the occasion, Vikas Khanna said, “I am excited about the collaboration with SpiceJet as food will help us connect with a larger cause that I am personally committed to, and is centered around celebrating and creating an enabling environment for the girl child. SpiceJet is known for specially curated experiences and exciting collaboration and I believe the impact of this initiative will be incredible.”

SpiceJet also unveiled special liveries on its Boeing 737 MAX aircraft at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, Mumbai, featuring exquisite delicacies curated by Vikas Khanna and motion picture based on his book, ‘Imaginary Rain’, featuring actress, Shabana Azmi.

SpiceJet has previously collaborated with various individuals and organisations to not just enhance passenger convenience but to also provide a platform for promotion of movies and events to support a worthy cause for the betterment of the society. Notably, SpiceJet had celebrated the 100 crore vaccination milestone in October 2021 with a special aircraft livery which featured the Hon’ble Prime Minister and frontline workers honouring them for their exemplary contribution during the Covid pandemic.

In July 2022, SpiceJet unveiled a special livery on its aircraft to mark the opening ceremony of the 44th Chess Olympiad being held in Chennai. In February 2020, the airline hosted an industry-first launch of a song from Tamil film star, Suriya's movie Soorarai Pottru, inside its aircraft and wrapped a Boeing B737 aircraft in the movie poster. In December 2019, the airline promoted the release of superstar Rajinikanth's film, Darbar by unveiling the aircraft livery of the movie during Pongal.
