GURUGRAM, March 27, 2022: SpiceJet, the country’s favourite airline and pioneer of the regional connectivity scheme – UDAN, today launched multiple new domestic flights including seven UDAN flights and eight industry-first flights.

Hon’ble Union Minister of Civil Aviation, Sh. Jyotiraditya Scindia and Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Sh. Yogi Adityanath inaugurated SpiceJet’s Gorakhpur-Varanasi flight in the presence of Chairman and Managing Director, SpiceJet, Ajay Singh and Hon’ble Joint Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation, Smt. Usha Padhee.

SpiceJet has been one of the most enthusiastic supporters of UDAN since the very beginning. Besides the Gorakhpur-Varanasi-Gorakhpur UDAN flight, the airline has launched flights on the Hyderabad-Puducherry-Hyderabad, Gorakhpur-Kanpur-Gorakhpur and Varanasi-Patna sectors under the regional connectivity scheme. The airline has also launched eight industry-first flights including those on Jaipur-Dharamshala and Tirupati–Shirdi sectors.

Both Gorakhpur and Varanasi are popular religious and tourist destinations in Uttar Pradesh. The airline will be deploying its Boeing 737 and Q400 aircraft on these routes.
