GURGAON, April 20 2015: SpiceJet, the country’s second largest low fare
airline, today announced the opening of advance booking for its winter schedule
effective from Oct 25th, 2015 to Mar 26th 2016, as a result of which customers can now
start planning their plan travel early for the Winter to get the best deals. With the
introduction of the winter schedule, SpiceJet will increase its operation to 251 daily
flights, up from 238 currently.
In the new winter schedule, in line with the airline’s route optimization strategy, the
focus of the airline is to increase frequencies and connections amongst its existing
stations rather than add new ones.
Speaking about the winter schedule, Mr. Sanjiv Kapoor, COO, SpiceJet said,
“We are pleased to introduce our winter schedule and open bookings beyond Oct 24 2015.
Our customers can now plan their travel upto March 26th next year, and as always, those
who plan and book early get the best fares. With this schedule we will also increase
our daily flights, through which we will provide more same-day return options and
better connections for travelers”.
SpiceJet also notes that, unlike some airlines which have recently hiked fees by
50% for last minute cancellations, it is not increasing its passenger cancellation
fees which remain at a reasonable Rs.1500 for last minutes cancellations.
“We understand that plans can sometimes change, and we want our customers to be able to
make amendments without spending much”, said Ms Shilpa Bhatia, Sr VP and Head
of Sales, SpiceJet.
