Dubai, 16 February, 2016: SpiceJet, India’s favourite budget airline,
today launched two new direct flight services from Dubai connecting Jaipur and
Hyderabad. With this launch, SpiceJet becomes the first private airline to operate a
direct flight on Dubai – Jaipur – Dubai route.
The flag-off to Hyderabad was initiated with a traditional lighting of the lamp followed
by a ribbon cutting ceremony by Mr. Vipin Narula - Vice Consul, Consulate General of
India, Dubai, UAE, Mr. Manas Ranjan Pattanaik - Regional Director, India Tourism,
Middle East & Africa & Mr Vinay Nambiar, Country Head for SpiceJet.
Among other distinguished dignitaries who graced the occasion with their presence as
Guests of Honor were, Mr. I.R.V Rao - Assistant Director, India Tourism, UAE and many
senior officials from Dubai Airports Authority, Mr Kishore Babu & Mr Srikanth from
Telugu Community of UAE and top travel agents from UAE were also present for the event.
The ceremony finally came to a conclusion at 1:30 PM with Mr. Vipin Narula - Vice
Consul, Consulate General of India, Dubai, flagging-off the flight bound for Hyderabad.
In line with the aviation tradition to mark key milestones, SpiceJet’s Boeing 737NG
aircraft deployed in the Jaipur - Dubai route was greeted with a grand water cannon
salute by Dubai Airport Authority on its arrival. Cake cutting ceremony soon followed
in celebration of the inaugural flight.
Commemorating the flight launch, Ms Shilpa Bhatia, Sr. VP, Commercial, SpiceJet,
said, Dubai is a key market for us in the Middle East and with the launch
of these new connections we are aiming to connect more of tier 2 and 3 cities in
addition to the major metros. We are confident that these new flights will provide our
customers with better and more convenient travel options. With the induction of Jaipur
and Hyderabad we will now be operating 10 flights a day to Dubai”
SpiceJet will operate daily flights between Dubai and Hyderabad and flights in the Dubai
and Jaipur route will be operated on all days except Mondays and Saturdays. Dubai is
one of SpiceJet’s six international destinations – Dubai, Bangkok, Colombo, Kabul, Male
(Maldives), and Muscat.
With the launch of these flights, SpiceJet will be serving Dubai direct from ten Indian
cities: Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Pune, Kochi, Madurai, Amritsar, Kozhikode, Jaipur and
Hyderabad with connections from dozens of more cities including Kolkata, Chennai, and
Bengaluru.
