Gurugram, November 1, 2017: SpiceJet, India’s favourite airline, now
offers the best lit cabins in the country among airlines serving the Asia-Pacific
region. In association with STG Aerospace, SpiceJet has been awarded the best Inflight
Asia-Pacific Award in the Interior Retrofit Project category at an event organized in
Singapore.
The prestigious prize designed to recognise the most exceptional supplier-airline
collaboration in the field of cabin interiors for aircraft serving the Asia-Pacific
region has recognised SpiceJet from among many shortlisted entries this year.
SpiceJet partnered with STG Aerospace to retrofit its legacy fluorescent lighting
systems on the airline’s fleet of 737-700, -800 and -900 aircraft with the STG
Aerospace LED aftermarket lighting system, liTeMood®.
Mr. Arun Kashyap, Executive Vice President – Engineering, at SpiceJet
said, “We have taken the onus of redefining ‘luxury’ for our customers in the budget
airline space. We were amongst the first to offer ‘hot meals’ on board and dedicated
extra legroom seats and our constant endeavor has been to enhance the passenger’s
flying experience.’’
``We are extremely happy with STG Aerospace’s ability to meet our tight timescales and
are looking forward to harmonise the look and feel of our cabin interiors to achieve an
impactful brand differentiation while offering a premium flying experience to
everyone.”
Mr. Nigel Duncan - CEO, STG Aerospace commented: “We’re proud of our
long-standing relationship with SpiceJet and equally delighted to have won this award
with them. The contract is our first major retrofit win for liTeMood® in the
Asia-Pacific region and, as an existing saf-Tglo® customer, SpiceJet have enabled us to
demonstrate our total cabin lighting solution in this hugely important market.”
Co-located with Aviation Week’s MRO Asia-Pacific event, Inflight Asia-Pacific provides a
dedicated regional forum for organisations and professionals specialising in cabin
interiors technology. The awards ceremony, designed to recognise notable regional
achievements from across the cabin interiors spectrum, was held in the Inflight
Workshop arena at the Singapore Expo Convention and Exhibition Centre.
