GURGAON, April 15th 2015: SpiceJet, the second largest low fare airline
in India, is further increasing its international services with the addition of
two more weekly flights on the Ahmedabad – Muscat sector, taking the total
frequency to 5 flights a week. The additional flights are effective from
May 13th 2015.
The additional flights are now open for booking at a promotional offer fare of INR
5499/- all-inclusive for Ahmedabad-Muscat, and OMR 39/- all-inclusive for
Muscat-Ahmedabad. The two additional flights will depart Ahmedabad every Wednesday &
Sunday at 11pm & depart Muscat every Thursday & Monday at 1.10 am. Through Ahmedabad,
passengers can connect to and from the Muscat flights from Delhi, Hyderabad and
Chennai, among other Indian cities.
“India and Oman have an excellent partnership, and the passenger demand between these
countries has been growing strongly,” said Mr. Sanjiv Kapoor, Chief Operating
Officer (COO), SpiceJet Ltd. “These additional frequencies are a part of
our plans to increase our international services, and we expect to add more flights and
frequencies to current and potential new international destinations in the coming
months as we add more aircraft”, he added.
Muscat is one of seven international destinations currently served by SpiceJet, the
others being Bangkok, Colombo, Dubai, Kabul, Kathmandu, and Male (Maldives). SpiceJet
also recently moved its Pune-Sharjah flight to operate Pune-Dubai instead.
SpiceJet was proud winner of the “2014 Top Airline by Growth in Muscat (South-Asia)”
award last year that was to recognize the tremendous 277% growth in the number of
passengers carried by the airline to and from Muscat International Airport in year
2014.
