At SpiceJet, we operate as a ticketless airline, meaning that an itinerary does not constitute a document of carriage. The booking in the SpiceJet database serves as the primary record of carriage. In the event of discrepancies between the itinerary and the booking in our database, the latter will prevail. Below are important travel policies you should be aware of:

1. Identification Requirements

   All passengers, including children and infants, must present valid identification at check-in. It is the passenger's responsibility to ensure they have the appropriate travel documents at all times. Acceptable forms of identification include:

   • Valid Passport
   • Valid Driving License
   • Election Photo Identification Card
   • Aadhaar/M-Aadhaar
   • PAN card issued by the Income Tax Department
   • Photo identity card issued by the employer (government or reputed private sector organisations)
   • School identification cards or any other photo identification proof for children travelling on SpiceJet
   • Valid birth certificate, mother's hospital discharge summary, vaccination certificate, or passport for infants
   • Nationalised bank passbook with an attested photograph
   • Pension card or pension document with the passenger's photograph
   • Disability Photo Identification Card or handicapped medical certificate issued by the respective state/UT governments/administrations
   • For foreign nationals travelling on domestic flights, the only valid photo identification is a passport
2. Travel to Port Blair (Andaman and Nicobar Islands)

   Foreign Nationals/Non-Indian Nationals/NRI: Must carry a valid passport for travel to Port Blair. NRIs must have either a Person of Indian Origin (PIO) card or a passport with valid documents.

   As the Andaman and Nicobar Islands are a Restricted Area under the Foreign Nationals (Restricted) Order 1963, the provision for the Restricted Area Permit (RAP) has been relaxed for visits by foreigners to 30 islands.

   Citizens of China, Afghanistan, and Pakistan, as well as those of Myanmar intending to visit Mayabunder and Diglipur in the North & Middle Andaman District, must obtain prior approval from the Ministry of Home Affairs for entry.

3. Boarding Pass Information

   The boarding pass is issued solely for processing convenience and holds no intrinsic value as a document. Passengers are advised to retain the boarding pass until exiting the terminal for security reasons. Passengers on connecting flights should keep their boarding pass accessible for physical checks at transit points.

4. Security Screening

   All passengers will undergo security screening before boarding the aircraft, as mandated by Indian regulations.

5. Carriage of Infants
   • Classification and Travel Policy: "Infants" are defined as children aged above 7 days and below 2 years on the travel date, while "passengers" are those aged 2 years and above. Infants below 7 days of age will require medical authorization from a physician for acceptance. Unaccompanied travel for infants is not permitted, and bookings for infants cannot be made as stand-alone reservations.
   • Age Proof: Carry any of the following valid IDs for the infant for age verification at the airport on the travel day:
   • Birth certificate
   • Mother's hospital discharge summary
   • Vaccination certificate
   • Passport

   Failure to provide valid age proof will result in the need to pay the applicable fare at the time of booking, subject to seat availability.

   • Check-In and Documentation: Arrive early at the airport to allow sufficient time for check-in, security checks, and potential delays. Ensure you have all necessary valid documents for your infant for both domestic and international flights.
   • Seating and Fees: Infants travel on their parent/guardian's lap and do not require separate seats. An additional fee of INR 1,750 per infant per sector will apply. Each adult can travel with a maximum of one infant due to limited inventory.
6. Unaccompanied Minor Policy:

   Children under the age of 12 require adult accompaniment at all times. SpiceJet accepts children aged between 5 and 12 years travelling alone as unaccompanied minors (UNMR inventory).

   1. UNMR Booking: The Unaccompanied Minor (UNMR) service can be booked through our website, mobile app, or by calling our reservation numbers: +91 (0)124 4983410 or +91 (0)124 7101600. To book through our website, simply select the "Unaccompanied Minor" option on the homepage when searching for flights.
   2. Fee: An additional fee of INR 4,999 is charged for each one-way domestic journey for unaccompanied minors.
   3. Travel Requirements:
   • The Unaccompanied Minor Form (UNMR form) must be completed and signed by the child’s parent(s) or guardian(s) before the departure date. The form can be viewed and downloaded from https://corporate.spicejet.com/content/pdf/UNMR_Form.pdf. If there is more than one minor travelling under the same PNR, only one UNMR form is required, provided that the minors share the same parents, address, and contact number.
   • On the day of departure, passengers must carry four printed copies of the signed and completed UNMR form to the ticketing counter. This form authorises the airline to care for the child until they are handed over to the designated recipient upon arrival.
   • Along with the copies of the UNMR form, it is also mandatory to present valid photo identification for both the parent/guardian and the minor(s).
   • Parent/guardian and the minor(s) must arrive at the departure airport at least 2 hours prior to departure for a smooth handover of the unaccompanied minor(s) to the airport staff.
   • After the necessary paperwork is processed, the airport staff will take responsibility for the minor(s) from that point onward.
   4. Care and Assistance for Unaccompanied Minors:
      • Airline staff will assist unaccompanied minors throughout the journey, including during airport procedures.
      • Seats will be assigned closer to the cabin crew to ensure they are looked after at all times. Dedicated cabin crew will ensure their needs are met in-flight.
      • A complimentary meal and beverage are provided on board from the available options.
   5. Travel Restrictions for Unaccompanied Minors:
      • Unaccompanied minors are not accepted if an overnight stay is required for flight connections.
      • SpiceJet does not transfer unaccompanied minors to international terminals for connecting flights with other airlines.
      • Unaccompanied minors cannot transit between domestic and international flights with SpiceJet.
   6. Arrival Handover:
      • Upon arrival, minor(s) are released only to the authorised individual specified in the form, who must present valid photo identification.
      • The authorised individual designated to receive the unaccompanied minor(s) at the arrival city must arrive at the airport as per the estimated flight arrival time and contact the SpiceJet office for coordination.
      • Once the minor(s) have been handed over from the flight to our arrival staff, our team will coordinate with the authorised individual for the minor(s)' handover.
      • The authorised individual must present valid photo identification to the arrival staff before the minor(s) are released.
      • Any checked-in baggage will be collected by the airline’s arrival staff and handed over along with the minor(s) to the parent/guardian.
   7. Web Check-in Restriction for Unaccompanied Minors: Unaccompanied minors (UNMR) are not eligible for web check-in. Check-in will be completed with the assistance of airline staff when the minor is dropped off at the airport ticketing counter by the parent/guardian.
7. Wheelchair Assistance Policy

   SpiceJet provides wheelchair assistance to passengers at no additional cost. However, please be aware that there is limited availability of wheelchairs on each flight. Passengers can pre-book a wheelchair while booking their tickets on our website or by calling the reservation centre. To ensure proper arrangements, passengers are advised to submit their wheelchair requests at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled departure of their flight.

8. Emergency Exit Row Seating

   Emergency exit rows are specific seating rows on an aircraft that are located near emergency exits, usually on the wings of the plane. These rows are strategically positioned to provide easy access to emergency exits in case of an evacuation. The primary purpose of these seats is to ensure the swift and safe evacuation of passengers in the event of an emergency, such as a fire, crash, or other situations where an immediate evacuation might be necessary.

   Passengers seated in emergency exit rows have additional responsibilities and must meet certain criteria, as outlined by aviation regulations and the airline's policies.

   Due to their importance in ensuring passenger safety, passengers seated in emergency exit rows are always briefed by the cabin crew on how to properly operate the exit door and assist in an evacuation if needed.

   
   

   Criteria for Emergency Exit Row Seating:

   Passengers who pre-book emergency exit row seats or are assigned to these seats must meet the following conditions:

   • Be above the age of 15 years on the date of travel.
   • Be physically and mentally capable of performing tasks associated with opening the emergency exit, as outlined in DGCA CAR - Section 8, Series O, Part VIII, Issue I.
   • Not suffer from any temporary illness affecting mobility.
   • Not be travelling with an infant or requiring additional safety assistance, such as pregnant women, individuals using extension seat belts, travellers with guide dogs, or individuals with medical conditions.
   • Be willing and able to:
   • Locate and recognise the emergency exit and its opening mechanism.
   • Comprehend and follow crew instructions regarding emergency exit operations.
   • Follow oral directions and hand signals given by a crew member.
   • Operate the emergency exit and secure the door so it does not impede use of the exit.
   • Assist other passengers and follow a safe path away from the exit in an emergency.
   • Assess, select, and follow a safe path away from the emergency exit.

   Passengers seated near an emergency exit must pay special attention to instructions provided by the cabin crew during briefing sessions on emergency procedures.

   If a passenger does not meet these criteria or is unwilling to sit at the emergency exit, SpiceJet may reallocate their seat, particularly during take-off and landing, to ensure safety. SpiceJet also reserves the right to change an assigned seat without prior notice in exigent circumstances, with the seat fee refunded if applicable.

   
   
9. In-Flight Guidelines and Services
   • Smoking and Alcohol Consumption Restrictions:
     • Smoking is not allowed on any SpiceJet flights, and all lavatories on SpiceJet aircraft are equipped with smoke detectors to ensure compliance with this policy. The consumption of alcohol is not permitted on SpiceJet's domestic flights.
   • Payment Methods and On-board Purchases:
     • Coins are not accepted on all our flights.
     • In the event of any failure, decline, or rejection of payment by the concerned bank for card payments made on board, it is the sole responsibility of the passenger to settle the declined payment. If the passenger fails to do so, SpiceJet reserves the right to initiate appropriate action for recovery of such amounts, including any additional expenses incurred by SpiceJet. By making any on-board purchases, passengers accept the applicable terms and conditions, and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts at New Delhi, India.
   • Food and Beverage Services: Pre-Booking and On-Board Menu:
     • Meal Options: SpiceCafé offers a variety of hot meals, sandwiches, chef's specials, and dietary-specific meals, including diabetic options, Jain meals, and low-calorie salads, available for pre-booking at discounted rates. Additionally, passengers may pre-book a 500 g Mocha cake to surprise their loved ones.
     • Pre-Booking Timeline: Meals can be pre-booked up to 6 hours prior to departure, while special meals and cakes can be pre-booked up to 24 hours and 48 hours prior to departure, respectively.
     • On-Board Menu:Our on-board menu includes a selection of ready-to-eat products, snacks, and beverages for passengers to enjoy during the flight.
     • Non-Availability of Pre-Booked Items: : In the event that a pre-booked food item is unavailable, SpiceJet will provide an alternative food option or issue a full refund for the pre-booked item in the form of a voucher. This voucher can be used for similar future purchases at SpiceJet's discretion and without further liability.
     • Please note that images of food and beverage products displayed on our platforms, including packaging, are for illustrative purposes only.
   • If a corporate passenger voluntarily purchases an upgrade or is upgraded to SpiceMax, their entitlement to one meal and one beverage will remain unchanged, without any provision for an additional complimentary serving.

12. Cancellation and Delay Policies

    Reservations made with SpiceJet are subject to our cancellation and delay policies. These policies outline the terms under which flights may be cancelled or delayed, including applicable fee and refund eligibility. For detailed information, passengers can refer to the sections that follow.

The essential details regarding web check-in, as well as the check-in process for domestic and connecting flights are outlined below:

• Web Check-In: Web check-in is available for all domestic flights and remains open until 60 minutes before the scheduled departure. In cases where assistance is needed for check-in or re-issuance of boarding passes via Reservations, a facilitation fee of INR 200 per passenger will be levied. However, this fee is exempted for passengers with medical conditions/stretchers, and bookings made under the fares of armed forces and senior citizens.
• Airport Check-in Counters: The airport check-in counters will open three hours before the flight's departure and will close 60 minutes before departure. Passengers are advised to arrive at the check-in counter at least two hours prior to their scheduled departure time.
• Connecting Flight Boarding Passes: When passengers have connecting flights involving domestic sectors, they will be issued two (2) boarding passes at the origin airport. The first boarding pass will remain valid until the transit point, while the second will be used for the journey from the transit point to the final destination. Check-in for the final destination is permitted up to 60 minutes before the scheduled departure time. For domestic connections, passengers can collect their baggage at their final destination.
• Gate No-Show Protocol: If passengers do not appear for boarding at the transit point 25 minutes before departure, even if they arrived on time from the point of origin, they will be classified as "Gate no-shows." The baggage belonging to such passengers will be offloaded and transferred to them or to the appropriate airport authority at the transit station, with no liability on the part of SpiceJet.

To ensure a smooth and stress-free journey with us, please adhere to our baggage policies. Here’s what you need to know about travelling with baggage:

• Check-In Allowance: Be aware of your check-in baggage allowance. Items exceeding this limit will incur excess baggage charges.
• Cabin Baggage Limits: Familiarise yourself with the allowances and dimensions for cabin baggage.
• Restricted Items: Adhere to restrictions on items permitted in cabin baggage.
• Label Your Bags: Clearly label your baggage with your name and address.
• Essential Items: Keep medication, important documents, valuables, and cash in your cabin baggage.
• Declare Restricted Items: Inform us of any arms or explosive substances you are carrying.
• Prohibited Items: Note the items that are strictly prohibited from being carried in both check-in and cabin baggage.

1. Hand Baggage Allowance and Guidelines:
   • Each passenger is permitted to carry one piece of hand baggage with a maximum weight of 7 kg, free of charge. Hand baggage size must be within the dimensions of 55 cm + 35 cm + 25 cm (L+W+H; total 115 cm) on Boeing flights and 50 cm + 35 cm + 23 cm (L+W+H; total 108 cm or 42.5 inches) on Q400 flights.
   • Additional items such as laptop bags or ladies’ purse can be carried alongside the hand baggage, as long as the combined weight remains within 7 kg.
   • Passengers travelling with infants can carry an extra piece of hand baggage, weighing a maximum of 7 kg and not exceeding the stated dimensions.
   • Carriage of Kirpan by Sikh Passengers: SpiceJet permits the carriage of Kirpans by Sikh passengers on domestic flights, under specific conditions to ensure safety and compliance with regulations. Detailed requirements regarding size and routes are outlined below.
     • The carriage of Kirpan by Sikh passengers has been carefully evaluated to ensure public order.
     • Sikh passengers are allowed to carry a Kirpan under specific conditions:
       • A Kirpan may be carried on a person only by a Sikh passenger, provided the length of its blade does not exceed 15.24 cm (6 inches) and the total length of a Kirpan does not exceed 22.86 cm. (9 inches).
       • Kirpan carriage is permitted on Indian aircraft within the country.
       • Kirpan is allowed solely on domestic routes for fully domestic flights.
   • Hand baggage will be accepted in the cabin, subject to the availability of space in the overhead bin.
   • Oversized or overweight hand baggage will be accepted as checked-in baggage, and it will be tagged and available for collection from the arrival hall conveyor belt.
   • If the hand baggage exceeds the free allowance of 7 kg at the boarding gate, it will be charged at ₹750 per kg for up to 5 kg extra, with a maximum total of 12 kg permitted in the cabin.
2. Checked–in Baggage Policy and Special Baggage:
   • Checked-in Baggage: Passengers are allowed to carry one piece of free checked-in baggage, with a weight not exceeding 15 kg and overall dimensions not exceeding 158 cm (calculated as the sum of Length + Width + Height). The weight variance in check-in baggage below the stipulated limit does not entitle passengers to transfer the excess weight to their hand baggage, and likewise, any surplus weight in hand baggage cannot be transferred to check-in baggage. The designated weight limits must be strictly adhered to for both types of baggage.
   • Special Baggage: Sports and skiing equipment, golf bags, large musical instruments, bicycles, surfboards, LCD and LED TVs larger than 39 inches, and other such large or out-of-gauge items are classified as Special Baggage. When registered as checked-in baggage, Special Baggage will be subject to a handling fee of INR 2500 per bag.
   • Excess Weight Charges: For checked baggage exceeding the applicable free allowance, normal excess baggage charges will be applied in addition to the handling fee. The transportation of Special Baggage also adheres to specific terms and conditions concerning the carriage of fragile items and related matters.
   • Transit Station Policy: Passengers travelling from a foreign country to an Indian city and continuing their journey on SpiceJet to a domestic sector under the same PNR will not incur additional excess baggage or handling charges for Special Baggage at the transit station. Similarly, passengers under the same PNR connecting from a foreign origin country to another foreign destination via India on SpiceJet will not be charged extra for any of the aforementioned items at the transit station.
   • LCD/LED TV Regulations: : LED/LCD TVs with sizes 39 inches and below will be considered regular checked-in baggage. Each passenger is allowed to carry a maximum of two (2) LCD or LED TVs as checked-in baggage, with both types incurring charges. The largest size of LED or LCD TV accepted for carriage is 55 inches.
3. Excess Checked-in Baggage Charges and Pre-booking Information
   • At the airport:
   • Excess Baggage Charges:
     1. Passengers exceeding the baggage allowance will be charged INR 700 per kg for domestic travel.
     2. Additional pieces of baggage will incur a fee of INR 1000 per piece in addition to the excess baggage charges.
   • Clubbing Baggage under Same PNR:
     1. Passengers under the same PNR can combine their check-in baggage.
     2. The weight of each bag must not exceed 32 kg as per the airport's baggage restriction.

   • Prepaid:
   • Pre-booking Excess Baggage Charges:
   1. Excess baggage can be pre-booked up to 3 hours before departure through the website, www.spicejet.com, or reservation centre.
   2. Pre-booked excess baggage cannot be cancelled individually or used partially. For example, if a passenger buys 5 kg and decides not to carry any excess baggage, it is non-cancellable. Similarly, if a passenger buys 5 kg of excess baggage but only uses 4 kg of it, the remaining 1 kg cannot be transferred, refunded, or reused.
   3. Discounts for prepaid excess baggage may vary across different channels.
   4. Excess baggage allowance is not included in additional pieces of baggage.
   5. Each slab of prepaid excess baggage can be booked only once per PNR, passenger, or sector.

4. Connecting Flight Baggage Policy
   • For passengers travelling from SpiceJet's domestic sector to its international sector or vice versa, the free baggage allowance of the international sector will be applicable within 24 hours of their flight departure to any domestic sector after landing in India.
   • Passengers travelling on SpiceJet domestic flights with connections on another airline to or from an international destination are permitted to carry one checked-in bag of up to 15 kg per flight as a free checked-in baggage allowance. SpiceJet does not offer the facility of through check-in for onward connections with SpiceJet or other carriers. SpiceJet operates only point-to-point service, and our passengers will have to check in separately for other flights. We don’t take responsibility for any inconvenience associated with missed connections to or from other carriers. Passengers must ensure that there is an adequate time gap between flights involving changes of aircraft or carriers at the point of stopover.

   Pre-booking charges for international connection excess baggage are listed here.

1. Items Unacceptable as Baggage: The following articles or items must not be included in the passenger’s baggage:
• Items that are likely to endanger the aircraft or persons or property on board the aircraft, such as those specified in the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Technical Instructions for the Safe Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air and the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Dangerous Goods Regulations, and in SpiceJet’s regulations. Further information is available from SpiceJet on request, although illustrative examples include:
• Compressed gases (deeply refrigerated, flammable, non-flammable, and poisonous), such as butane, oxygen, liquid nitrogen, aqualung cylinders, and compressed gas cylinders such as camping gas.
• Corrosives such as acids, alkalis, mercury, and wet cell batteries and apparatus containing mercury.
• Explosives, munitions, fireworks, flares, blank cartridges, pistols, or any other weapons, and pistol caps.
• Flammable liquids and solids such as lighter refills, lighter fuel, matches, paints, thinners, firelighters, lighters that need inverting before ignition, substances liable to spontaneous combustion, and substances that emit flammable gases on contact with water.
• Radioactive materials.
• Briefcases and attaché cases with installed alarm or pyrotechnic devices.
• Oxidizing materials such as bleaching powder and peroxides.
• Poisons and infectious substances such as insecticides, weed killers, and live virus materials.
• Other dangerous articles such as magnetized materials and offensive or irritating materials.
• Items whose carriage is prohibited by the applicable laws, regulations, or orders of any state to be flown from or to.
• Items that are reasonably considered by SpiceJet to be unsuitable for carriage because they are dangerous or unsafe, because of their weight, size, shape, or character, or because they are fragile or perishable, having regard to, among other things, the type of aircraft being used. Information about unacceptable items is available upon request.
• Firearms and ammunition other than for hunting and sporting purposes are prohibited from carriage as baggage. Firearms and ammunition for hunting and sporting purposes may be accepted as checked-in baggage. Firearms must be unloaded, with the safety catch on, and suitably packed. The carriage of ammunition is subject to ICAO and IATA regulations as specified in Article.
• Dry cell batteries, scissors, sharp instruments, tools, and weapons such as antique firearms, toy weapons, swords, knives, and similar items may be accepted as checked-in baggage at SpiceJet’s sole discretion but will not be permitted in the cabin of the aircraft.
• The passenger must not include in Checked Baggage money, currency, jewellery, precious metals, computers, personal electronic devices, negotiable papers or instruments, securities or other valuables, business documents, passports, or other identification documents or samples. To the extent that it is necessary to carry such items (at the passenger’s risk), they should be carried in the passenger’s hand baggage in the cabin.
• Medicines and toiletries may be carried in limited quantities if they are necessary or appropriate during the passenger’s journey (to the extent that carriage is permitted by the appropriate regulations). Otherwise, many of these items can be carried as air cargo, provided they are packed in accordance with cargo regulations.
• If, despite being prohibited, any items referred to in the above points are included in the passenger’s baggage, SpiceJet shall not be responsible for any loss or damage to such items.
• Power banks and portable mobile chargers are allowed only in hand baggage and not in checked-in baggage. If any of these items are detected in the X-ray, your checked-in baggage will not be loaded on the flight due to security reasons. Older generation Apple MacBook Pro laptops with 15-inch screens purchased between September 15 and February 17 are prohibited from being carried in the cabin as well as checked-in baggage.
• The carriage of satellite phones (Thuraya and Iridium) is prohibited on all flights.

SpiceJet will not be responsible for, or have any liability in respect of, articles removed from the passenger’s baggage by airport security personnel acting in accordance with any applicable regulations.

2. Alcoholic Beverages Carriage Guidelines : The rules regarding the carriage of alcoholic beverages on SpiceJet flights are stated below:
• A maximum of 5 litres of alcoholic beverages with alcohol content between 24% and 70% by volume are permitted in retail packaging as checked-in baggage.
• The permissible limit of 5 litres includes duty-paid alcohol that passengers may buy from the airport. Bills for such purchases must always be kept handy.
• On a domestic flight, alcoholic beverages are only permitted to be carried as checked-in baggage unless they are purchased from duty-paid outlets. These duty-paid alcoholic beverages can then be carried as hand baggage.
• Alcoholic beverages carried on board by passengers are not permitted to be opened and/or consumed inside an aircraft.
• Carrying alcoholic beverages from or into the states of Bihar, Gujarat, Tripura, Mizoram, Nagaland, UT Lakshadweep, or any other state considered a ‘dry state’ is not permitted.

Please note that the consumption of alcohol on all domestic flights is strictly prohibited.



3. Carriage Policy for Portable Oxygen Concentrator (POC)

The following guidelines apply to the carriage of Portable Oxygen Concentrators (POCs) on SpiceJet flights:

• POCs are allowed on domestic and international (Boeing and Q-400) direct, via, or connecting flights.
• POCs are permitted in both hand baggage and checked baggage.
• Requests for the carriage of Portable Oxygen Concentrators (POCs) in-flight should be sent to custrelations@spicejet.com. at least 48 hours prior to flight departure.


4. Baggage Refusal and Acceptance Guidelines
• SpiceJet reserves the right to decline the transportation of items outlined in the "Items Unacceptable as Baggage" section.
• SpiceJet retains the discretion to decline carriage of items that, due to their size, shape, weight, content, or nature, could compromise safety, operational efficiency, or the comfort of fellow passengers. Details about prohibited items are accessible upon inquiry.
• SpiceJet retains the authority to reject baggage for transportation unless it is appropriately and securely packed in containers deemed suitable by the airline. Information regarding unacceptable packing methods and containers can be obtained upon request.


5. Authority to Conduct Searches

To ensure the safety and security of all passengers, SpiceJet may request passengers to cooperate with a search and scan of their person, as well as a search, scan, or x-ray of their baggage. If a passenger is unavailable, their baggage may be searched in their absence. This procedure aims to ascertain whether the passenger is carrying any items mentioned in the section titled “Items Unacceptable as Baggage”, or any firearms, ammunition, or weapons that haven't been declared to SpiceJet as per the aforementioned section. In cases where a passenger declines to comply with these security requests, SpiceJet reserves the right to deny carriage to both the passenger and their baggage. It's important to note that if a search or scan results in damage to the passenger or their baggage, SpiceJet will not be held liable for the damage unless it's attributable to the airline's fault or negligence.



6. SpiceJet's Baggage Responsibility and Recommendations
• SpiceJet assumes no liability for the normal wear and tear of baggage, including but not limited to scratches, torn zippers, straps, wheels, handles, scuffs, dents, soiling, or manufacturer defects.
• SpiceJet is not responsible for improperly packed, perishable, damaged, or fragile baggage, minor exterior damage due to regular wear and tear, or water damage to non-waterproof baggage.
• Passengers are strongly advised to remove perishable goods, valuables (such as cash, cameras, jewellery, electronics, etc.), and medication from their checked-in baggage and place them in their hand baggage. SpiceJet will not take responsibility for these items.
• Should passengers include valuables in their checked-in baggage despite this recommendation, they do so at their own risk. SpiceJet will not be held accountable for any pilferage, damage, or other loss of these valuables, and any claims in this regard cannot be directed towards SpiceJet, its employees, agents, or successors.
• SpiceJet is not liable for any loss or damage caused by delays in the carriage of passengers or baggage.
• SpiceJet is not liable for any damage caused by the passenger’s baggage. The Passenger shall be responsible for any damage caused by their baggage to other persons or property, including SpiceJet’s property.
• SpiceJet shall not be held responsible for any compensation claim arising from indirect, consequential, or remote causes of lost, delayed, or damaged checked-in baggage.
• SpiceJet’s responsibility for passengers' checked-in baggage begins when the baggage is checked in at the departure airport and continues until it is placed on the conveyor belt at the destination airport. We take every reasonable step to ensure the safe custody of the baggage during this period.
• Receipt of checked-in baggage without complaint at the end of the journey serves as prima facie evidence that the baggage was delivered correctly and in good condition.
• In cases of damaged or lost checked-in baggage, SpiceJet’s liability will be governed by the provisions of the Carriage by Air Act, 1972, and the associated rules, including any exceptions, modifications, or adaptations issued by the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India, and updated as needed. SpiceJet’s liability for lost or damaged checked-in baggage is limited to INR 350 per kilogram.
• SpiceJet assumes no liability for fragile or perishable articles included in checked-in baggage.
• SpiceJet will not be responsible for any loss, delay, or damage resulting from its compliance with the applicable laws or from a passenger’s failure to adhere to these laws. Under no circumstances will SpiceJet’s liability exceed the amount of proven damages.

SpiceJet permits the carriage of personal arms and ammunition as checked-in baggage on domestic sectors only.

• Arms and ammunition will be accepted on all direct and transit flights, subject to pre-clearance by SpiceJet.
• Passengers must write to custrelations@spicejet.com or call +91 (0)124 4983410 / +91 (0)124 7101600 to enquire about clearance.
• A request for carriage must be made at least 72 hours prior to flight departure.
• The passenger must possess a valid licence for the weapon for the origin, destination, and any transit point.
• The weapon must be unloaded, and ammunition must be within the prescribed limit, not exceeding 5 kg gross weight, carried in a secure, hard-sided case.
• If cleared for carriage, the passenger must report at least 3 hours before departure for documentary verification and physical inspection of the weapon at the check-in counters or baggage screening point.

Live animals are permitted to be carried in the cargo hold for which the requirements are mentioned below.

• The period of validity of the veterinary health certificates should not be more than 48 hours before the time of schedule departure.
• AVI will be accepted only on direct flight.
• SpiceJet does not accept live rats, guinea pigs and any other animal emanating a strong odor on its flights. SpiceJet also does not accept reptiles and other poisonous animals on any of its flights.
• SpiceJet will not accept any live animal intended to be used for laboratory experimentation for transport on its network.
• The owner of the animal will be responsible for compliance with all the governmental customs and health requirements, including quarantine arrangements at destinations, entry permits and other documents required by countries of entry.
• Shipper's Declaration Form and a declaration indemnifying the airline will be obtained from the shipper at the Cargo warehouse.
• Carriage of Animals into any country by air as a cargo shall be in accordance with the terms and conditions of IATA Live Animals Regulations (LARS) and SpiceJet Policy.
• The pet dog must be properly muzzled and leashed.
• AVI will be carried in the cargo compartment of the aircraft.
• For CITES species, CITES Export / Re-Export Permit where required, veterinary examination, quarantine, or prohibition restrictions which may also include the food provided for the animal(s); also, the shipper shall obtain current requirements from local consulate or national authority concerned, if applicable.
• If AVI is required to be loaded on or in ULDs (Unit load device), then ULDs are only loaded onto aircraft that are compatible with the load and associated restrictions.

Health

• Animals shall not show any signs of illnesses. They shall be well fed (food and water) prior to transportation.
• The carriage of animals in an advanced state of pregnancy is prohibited.

Documentation

• Health documents stating the animal's fitness for carriage by air, breed, age of AVI and Fit to Fly Certification and Vaccination / Immunization record with Rabies vaccination date are required.

Minimum Age

Pets must be at least 4 months old for International flights or 3 months or 12 weeks old for Domestic flights. Females with young suckling, as well as puppies / kittens, will not be accepted.

• A maximum of two adult animals of comparable size of up to 14kg each that are used to cohabitation may be shipped in the same container. Animals over and above the aforementioned weight limit must travel individually.
• Animals up to six months old from the same litter, up to a maximum quantity of three, may be shipped in the same container.
• Maximum weight of AVI should not be more than 35kg excluding the cage weight.

Restricted Breeds

SpiceJet will not accept the following breeds of dogs, including snubbed-nose dogs and short-muzzled dog breeds, as these animals are known to be susceptible to increased risk of heat stroke (when exposed to stress or changes in temperature), breathing difficulties or increased travel stress.

SpiceJet will also not accept poisonous animals and those who are known to produce offensive odors.

The following breeds are examples of those not accepted for carriage on SpiceJet flights due to safety and regulatory considerations.

Cage for Live Animal:

AVI will be accepted only in the IATA Standard Fiber Cage. Maximum dimension of cage should not be more than 48 Inch (L) X 45 Inch (W) X 30 Inch (H).

 

Determination of kennel size and quality: The animal shall have enough space to turn around normally while standing, to stand and sit, and to lie in a natural manner.

At SpiceJet, we recognise that travel plans may require adjustments. Our policies for cancellations, changes, and delays are designed to provide the necessary support and flexibility. Below are the key details regarding each aspect of our policies.

1. Cancellation and Changes Initiated by the Passenger:

   In the event of a booking cancellation or change initiated by the passenger, the following guidelines will apply:

   • Look-In Option:

     SpiceJet provides a 24-hour "Look-In" period post-booking, during which passengers can amend or cancel their ticket without any additional charges, except for any applicable fare difference for the revised flight. This option is only applicable for bookings where the first leg of travel is scheduled to depart more than 7 days after the booking date. To avail of this option, passengers must contact SpiceJet's Reservation Centre at +91 (0)124 4983410 or +91 (0)124 7101600.

   • Split PNR Functionality:

     A feature offered to SpiceJet passengers across various channels, including the SpiceJet website, mobile app, mobile site, and reservation centres. This feature allows passengers to separate or "split" a portion of their booking into a new Passenger Name Record (PNR). The feature is designed to provide flexibility, enabling a passenger to modify or cancel their segment of the booking without affecting the entire reservation. You can easily access this functionality online via the "Manage Booking" tab on the SpiceJet website, as well as through the mobile app and mobile site.

     Key Features:

     1. Applicability:
        • The Split PNR functionality is available for bookings with two or more passengers on both domestic and international flights.
        • For Friends & Family fares, a minimum of four passengers is required in a PNR to be eligible for a split. After the split, each PNR must have at least two passengers. For bookings with five or more passengers, the split PNR must also include at least two passengers.
     2. Booking Changes: When a passenger is split from the original booking, a new PNR will be created for the split passenger. The contact details in the new PNR will remain unchanged from the original booking.
     3. The Split PNR functionality is not applicable to Group PNRs and LTC (Leave Travel Concession) PNRs.
     4. The cancellation and change policies applicable to the PNR will remain in accordance with the fare rules of the original booking.

     SpiceJet reserves the right to modify, alter, amend, or change any and all of the terms and conditions of this functionality at any time, without prior notice. SpiceJet also reserves the right to withdraw or cancel this offer at any time, without prior notice.

     Note: The Split PNR functionality is designed to ensure that any changes made by one passenger do not impact the rest of the booking. SpiceJet encourages passengers to carefully review all terms, conditions, and disclaimers before initiating the Split PNR process.

   • Date Change:

     For domestic sectors, any changes related to the date of travel will incur applicable charges as detailed in the table below. If the original fare is unavailable at the time of change, the fare difference will also be applied in addition to the change fee. All fees are subject to change without prior notice.

   • Sector Change:

     Requests to change the sector for domestic bookings will attract either the applicable cancellation fee, or the base fare plus fuel surcharge per passenger per sector, whichever is lower. If the same fare is unavailable at the time of change, the fare difference will also be applied along with any other applicable fees. All fees are subject to change without prior notice.

   • Additional Charges for Bookings via Reservation Centre or Airport Counters:

     For booking cancellations and flight changes requested via the SpiceJet reservation centre or airport ticketing counters, an additional sum of INR 250 per passenger per flight will be charged.

   • Non-Cancellable Add-On Services:

     Add-on services such as meals, SpiceMax, excess baggage, lounge access, priority check-in, and preferred bag-out are non-cancellable in isolation.

   • Name Correction Policy:

     Recognising that booking errors can happen, SpiceJet is committed to providing a smooth travel experience. To help make your journey as easy as possible, we offer the opportunity to rectify minor discrepancies as outlined in the following guidelines:

     • Name corrections can only be made once.
     • Only one letter change is allowed in either the first or last name, including letter substitutions such as changing 'ee' to 'i'.
     • Title corrections are allowed at no additional charge, regardless of the time of change. However, once a title correction is made, no further name corrections will be permitted.
     • Full name changes are not permitted.
     • Initials are displayed as single letters and cannot be changed to different letters or expanded to full names. For example, if an initial is shown as 'A', it cannot be altered to 'B' or expanded to a full name.
     • Name corrections are free within 24 hours of booking. After 24 hours, a Name Correction Fee of INR 500 for domestic flights and INR 1000 for international flights will apply.
     • Passengers who have already checked in cannot make name corrections through our website or app. For assistance with this matter, please contact our reservations centre at +91 (0)124 4983410 or +91 (0)124 7101600.
     • The name correction fee shall be deemed non-refundable in the event that the passenger cancels the ticket. However, such fee shall be refunded in instances where the flight is cancelled by the airline due to irregular operations.

     Please ensure your booking name matches your identification proof.

   • Promo and Sale Fare Restrictions and Refund Guidelines:
     • All spicy promotional or auction fares, particularly those purchased in conjunction with return fares, are restrictive and non-refundable, may not permit flight changes, and are subject to limited inventory available on a first-come, first-served basis; passengers are advised to check fare restrictions when booking, and SpiceJet reserves the right to withdraw or amend promotions without prior notice.
     • In the event of cancellation, non-utilization, or no-show on promo or special fares where the basic fare is non-refundable, passengers will be entitled to a refund of statutory taxes, including the User Development Fee (UDF), Airport Development Fee (ADF), and Passenger Service Fee (PSF), as applicable. However, bookings on flights to/from certain routes such as Ajmer, Belagavi, Durgapur, Gwalior, Jaisalmer, Jalandhar, Jharsuguda, Kandla, Kanpur, Pondicherry, Darbhanga, and Porbandar are excluded from this refund as no taxes are collected on these routes.

     Note: The fees mentioned above apply on a per passenger, per sector basis. In the event of cancellation, if the base fare is lower than the specified fees, the applicable charges will be the base fare plus the fuel surcharge per passenger, per sector, or the cancellation fees, whichever is lower.



2. Cancellation Initiated by the Airline:

SpiceJet will make all reasonable efforts to ensure the timely operation of its scheduled flights. However, unforeseen circumstances may cause a delay or cancellation of its scheduled operations. In the event of a booking cancellation initiated by the airline, the following guidelines will come into effect:

• Passenger(s) who have provided a correct and working mobile number or e-mail at the time of reservation and have been informed about flight cancellation at least two weeks before the scheduled time of departure shall be entitled to an alternate flight or a full refund, as per their preference. However, if passengers are informed of the cancellation less than two weeks before and up to 24 hours before the scheduled time of departure, SpiceJet shall offer an alternate flight or provide a full refund if no suitable alternative is available.
• Passengers who have not been informed as per the above provisions or have missed a connecting flight booked on the same PNR of a SpiceJet flight are entitled to the following options:
• SpiceJet will provide an alternate flight that is acceptable to the passenger.
• In the event that an alternate flight is not provided, SpiceJet will offer compensation in addition to a full refund of the air ticket. The compensation provided by SpiceJet will be in accordance with the compensation policy outlined by the airline, as mentioned below:
• INR 5,000 or booked one-way basic fare plus airline fuel charge, whichever is less for flights having a block time of 01 hour or less.
• INR 7,500 or booked one-way basic fare plus airline fuel charge, whichever is less for flights having block time of more than 01 hour and up to and including 02 hours.
• INR 10,000 or booked one-way basic fare plus airline fuel charge, whichever is less for flights having a block time of more than 02 hours.

Flight cancellation compensation shall be paid in cash, via bank transfer, or - upon the passenger’s signed consent - in the form of travel vouchers, in accordance with DGCA CAR Section 3 - Air Transport Series ‘M’, Part IV, dated August 6, 2010.

• In situations where SpiceJet offers an alternative flight to or from an airport or terminal different from the one originally booked by the customer, the airline will bear the cost of the transfer between the alternate airport or terminal and the one for which the ticket was initially booked. However, if the passenger has been informed of the flight change at least 6 hours in advance, they will be responsible for making their own arrangements for the transfer to or from the alternate airport or terminal.
• In cases where adverse weather conditions or circumstances beyond SpiceJet's control lead to the cancellation or delay of your flight, SpiceJet will make efforts to aid you in reaching your destination. However, SpiceJet cannot be held liable for any consequences arising from the delay or cancellation.


3. Flight Rescheduling by the Airline:

If SpiceJet cancels a flight, prepones the flight schedule by sixty (60) minutes or more, or postpones the flight by one hundred and twenty (120) minutes or more, affected passengers have the following options:

• Alternate Flight Accommodation: Passengers can choose accommodation on alternate flights for the same sector within the next or preceding seven (07) days from the original date of journey, subject to availability and at SpiceJet's discretion. To avail themselves of this option, passengers must request these changes within 24 hours of the departure time of their original flight.

  OR

• Full Refund: Passengers can opt for a full refund of the amount paid for the original booking.


4. Delayed Flights and Passenger Entitlements:

This section details the policies related to flight delays and the corresponding entitlements available to passengers, ensuring they are informed of their rights and the support they can expect during such situations.

• In the event that the passenger has checked in on time and the SpiceJet flight is delayed from its original scheduled departure time, SpiceJet shall provide reasonable refreshments to such checked-in passengers. Following are these scenarios:

  In accordance with Para 3.8.1(a) of CAR Section 3, Series M Part IV, passengers are entitled to the following facilities based on the duration of the flight delay:

  • Up to 2 hours: Drinking water will be provided.
  • Between 2 to 4 hours: Tea, coffee, and light snacks or refreshments will be provided.
  • More than 4 hours: Meals will be provided.
• In the event that any domestic flight is expected to be delayed by more than 6 hours, passengers shall be informed 24 hours prior to the original scheduled departure time, or SpiceJet shall offer the option of either an alternate flight within a period of 6 hours or a full refund.
• In the event that the expected time of departure is delayed in total by more than 24 hours from the original schedule time of departure, or in the event that the delay is more than 6 hours for the flights scheduled to depart between 2000 hours and 0300 hours, hotel accommodation shall be provided wherever necessary. SpiceJet shall have absolute discretion in the selection of hotels under the given circumstances, and no reimbursement shall be made in this regard.


5. Delay or Cancellation of Connecting Flights and Passenger Entitlements:

In case of delay or cancellation of a flight operated as part of the connecting flights, the following shall apply:

• In case of delay or cancellation of the flight at the point of origin, which leads to the possibility of a missed connection at the point of transit, the passenger shall have the right to choose a refund, a credit shell for future travel on SpiceJet, or re-booking onto an alternative SpiceJet flight at no additional cost, subject to availability.
• In case of a delay or cancellation of the connecting flight at the point of transit, SpiceJet will, at its discretion and subject to the availability of seats, offer the passenger the option to travel on the next SpiceJet flight.
• SpiceJet does not provide connections with other airlines and shall not be liable for any losses incurred by passengers attempting to connect with flights operated by other carriers.


6. Exemptions from Compensation in Specified Scenarios

No compensation, as mentioned in the previous sections, will be payable to affected passengers if:

• Adequate contact information (i.e., mobile number or email) has not been provided by the passenger(s) at the time of reservation.
• Cancellations and/or delays occur due to a force majeure event that led to flight cancellation and could not have been avoided even with all reasonable measures taken by SpiceJet. For this purpose, a force majeure event includes, but is not limited to, political instability, natural disasters, civil war, insurrection or riot, floods, explosions, government regulations or orders affecting the aircraft, strikes, labor disputes causing cessation, slowdown, interruption of work, meteorological conditions, mechanical failures, commotion, embargoes, cancellations, or delays clearly attributable to Air Traffic Control, security or safety risks, or any other factor beyond the control of SpiceJet.
• Cancellations or changes are made within 2 hours prior to the scheduled departure time, or if passengers fail to check in at least 60 minutes before departure for a SpiceJet flight, resulting in the forfeiture of the fare.

The compensation mentioned above for the respective categories is not cumulative and cannot be combined.

These policies are governed by the Civil Aviation Requirements of the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India. Any disputes or grievances can be addressed to Customer Services at custrelations@spicejet.com or by calling our reservation centre at +91 (0)124 4983410 or +91 (0)124 7101600.

This section outlines the refund procedures and timelines for ticket cancellations based on the payment method used, including details for tickets purchased through different platforms.

• If payment is made through the website using debit or credit cards, Net Banking, Wallets, or UPI, any refunds resulting from cancellations will be processed within seven (7) working days. The refund amount will be credited back to the source account used for the original payment.
• Refunds against cash payments will be disbursed in cash only.
• If the tickets that were purchased through travel agents, online travel portals, or similar platforms are cancelled, the refund will be processed within seven (7) working days from the time of ticket cancellation.

Self or Voluntary Offload

To ensure operational efficiency and passenger comfort, the policies regarding self or voluntary offloading after boarding are detailed below.

• Self or voluntary offloading after boarding the flight by the passenger is strictly not permitted, except in an unforeseen event of a medical emergency or similar cases, such as the death of relatives, for which the passenger will have to provide evidence to the satisfaction of SpiceJet.
• Self or voluntary offloading causes unwarranted inconvenience to other travelling passengers, delays in the operation of flights, and also incurs additional costs for the airline for such delays.
• If a passenger offloads themselves for any reason other than the exceptions mentioned above, SpiceJet will cancel the entire ticket for that passenger's intended travel. Additionally, any further transportation, whether booked under the same Passenger Name Record (PNR) or different PNRs, will also be cancelled, and no refunds will be provided in such cases.
• Each passenger who is offloaded for reasons other than the exceptions mentioned will be subject to an off-loading fee of INR 10,000 per passenger. This fee must be paid immediately upon offloading. Furthermore, SpiceJet retains the right to recover from each offloaded passenger any and all costs, whether direct or consequential, arising from disrupted operations. These costs may include, but are not limited to, expenses related to baggage removal, flight delays, disruptions, misconnections, and inconvenience caused to other passengers.

SpiceReclaim (Voluntary Seat Surrender Programme)

1. Introduction

The SpiceReclaim Programme (“Programme”) is a voluntary initiative offered by SpiceJet Limited (“SpiceJet”) which permits passengers holding confirmed bookings on specific SpiceJet flights to surrender (i.e., cancel) their seats in exchange for a full refund of the original fare, together with a SpiceJet Travel Voucher (“Voucher”), subject always to the terms and conditions set forth herein.



2. Invitation to Participate

SpiceJet may, at its sole discretion, invite selected passengers to participate in the programme (“Invitation”).

An Invitation may be communicated through:

• Email to the “Primary Email ID” provided at the time of booking,
• WhatsApp or SMS to the registered mobile number (“Primary Number”), or
• Any other channel deemed appropriate by SpiceJet.

Each Invitation shall specify:

• The relevant flight details, and
• The offer details.

Issuance of an Invitation does not guarantee acceptance into the programme. SpiceJet reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to accept or reject any submission.



3. Participation and Offer Submission

Participation in the programme is entirely voluntary.

• To participate, passengers must click the link provided in the Invitation and follow the steps outlined on the SpiceJet website.
• It shall be deemed that any submission of an offer (whether acceptance or rejection) is made by an individual of at least eighteen (18) years of age.
• For PNRs containing multiple passengers, only the Primary Passenger (linked to the registered email/mobile) may submit the offer, and such submission shall be binding upon all passengers listed under the PNR.
• Partial acceptance of an offer shall not be permitted.
• By submitting an offer (acceptance or rejection), the Primary Passenger shall be deemed duly authorized to act on behalf of all passengers associated with the PNR.


4. Acceptance of Offer and Refund Process
• Acceptance of offers shall be subject to seat availability, and may be honored at SpiceJet’s discretion.
• Acceptance shall be communicated to the passenger via the Primary Email ID, Primary Number, or any other communication channel as determined by SpiceJet.
• Upon acceptance:
• The original booking shall be irrevocably cancelled.
• A full refund of the fare shall be processed.
• Vouchers shall be generated and transmitted to the Primary Passenger’s registered email and/or WhatsApp on the Primary Passenger’s mobile number.
• Each Voucher shall be issued in the name of the individual passenger and shall be strictly non-transferable.


5. Eligibility and Programme Conditions
• Eligibility shall be determined exclusively by SpiceJet.
• Only confirmed bookings on designated flights shall qualify for participation.
• Seats offered under the programme are limited in quantity and available only for a limited period.
• Invitations shall remain valid only for the defined duration and shall be honored on a first-come, first-served basis.
• Failure to respond within the stipulated timeframe shall result in automatic withdrawal.
• SpiceJet may, at its discretion, modify, suspend, or withdraw the programme, or revise eligibility criteria, without prior notice. The voucher amount specified in a particular Invitation shall apply only to that Invitation and may vary for subsequent offers.
• Where a PNR includes multiple passengers, acceptance of an offer shall result in cancellation of the entire booking.
• Partial surrender (i.e., cancellation) of seats within a PNR shall not be permitted.


6. Communication, Liability, and Force Majeure
• SpiceJet shall not be liable for any failure in delivery of communications due to incorrect or outdated contact details.
• SpiceJet’s liability shall be strictly limited to:
• The amount of the original fare paid, and
• The value of any Voucher issued.
• The programme is offered on a best-effort basis and remains subject to force majeure events, including but not limited to:
• Natural disasters,
• Governmental restrictions,
• Cyberattacks,
• Pandemics, or
• Technical disruptions beyond the control of SpiceJet.
• By accepting the refund and the Voucher, passengers irrevocably waive any and all further claims against SpiceJet in respect of the original booking, including but not limited to claims relating to delays, cancellations, or denied boarding.
• SpiceJet’s Terms of Carriage, available at www.spicejet.com, shall continue to apply.


7. Refund Terms
• Refunds shall be initiated to the original method of payment used at booking.
• Where the original mode is unavailable, SpiceJet may request alternative bank account details.
• Refunds may require seven (7) to ten (10) working days, subject to timelines imposed by payment gateways or banks.
• SpiceJet shall not be liable for any delay attributable to third-party service providers.


8. Voucher Terms and Usage
• Issuance and Validity
• Vouchers shall be issued in the passenger’s name and delivered solely to the Primary Passenger’s registered contact details.
• Vouchers are not redeemable for cash and are strictly non-transferable.
• Vouchers shall be valid for six (6) months from the date of issuance.
• Bookings must be completed within the validity period; however, travel may take place beyond the validity period provided the booking itself is made within such time.
• Redemption
• Vouchers may be redeemed through SpiceJet’s website, mobile application, or customer care channels.
• Vouchers may be applied toward select products or services offered by SpiceJet, which list shall be determined, and may be varied, at the sole discretion of SpiceJet.
• Vouchers may be redeemed only once and shall not be combined with other SpiceJet offers or promotions.
• Vouchers may not be redeemed on specified blackout dates.
• Any unused balance, including in cases of partial redemption, shall be forfeited.
• No replacements shall be issued for lost, stolen, or misused Vouchers. SpiceJet reserves the right to refuse redemption where fraud is suspected
• Redemption by Minors
• Vouchers issued in the name of minors must be redeemed by a parent, guardian, or the Primary Passenger.
• Travel must include the minor.
• SpiceJet reserves the right to verify identity or guardianship.


9. Offer Reinstatement and Duplicate Submissions
• Once accepted, bookings shall be permanently cancelled and shall not be reinstated
• If SpiceJet rejects an offer acceptance, the original booking shall remain valid.
• Re-submission of the same offer shall not be permitted.
• Only the first valid submission per PNR shall be entertained; any duplicate submissions shall be disregarded.


10. Technical Errors and Submission Confirmation
• Offers shall be deemed successful only upon confirmation via SpiceJet’s system.
• SpiceJet shall not be liable for technical failures, including but not limited to website downtime, server issues, or email filtering.
• Passengers are advised to retain submission receipts and confirmations for their records.


11. Feedback and Discretion
• By submitting an offer, passengers consent to being contacted by SpiceJet for feedback or surveys.
• Once submitted, an offer shall be irrevocable and binding upon all passengers under the PNR.
• SpiceJet shall have sole discretion to honor or disregard any offer acceptance, without being obliged to disclose reasons.


12. Misuse, Fraud, and Dispute Resolution
• SpiceJet may disqualify or suspend passengers or entities found to be misusing the programme, including but not limited to:
• Fraudulent activity,
• System manipulation, or
• Submission of falsified details.
• In the event of any dispute, SpiceJet’s decision shall be final and binding.
• All matters arising under these Terms and Conditions shall be governed by Indian law and shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts situated at New Delhi.

In the event of a situation arising due to unavoidable circumstances (e.g., clubbing of flights, change of aircraft type, etc.) resulting in passengers being denied boarding against their will, the passenger(s) will be eligible for the following amount of compensation, as mentioned.

1. Compensation for Denied Boarding and Alternate Flight Arrangements:

Passengers who have been denied boarding will not qualify for compensation if an alternate flight is arranged to depart within one hour of the original scheduled departure time of their initial reservation. However, if no alternative arrangement is provided, passengers will be eligible for the following compensation:

• An amount equal to 200% of the booked one-way basic fare plus airline fuel charge, subject to a maximum of INR 10,000, in case SpiceJet arranges an alternate flight that is scheduled to depart within 24 hours of the booked scheduled departure.
• An amount equal to 400% of the booked one-way basic fare plus airline fuel charge, subject to a maximum of INR 20,000, in case SpiceJet arranges an alternate flight that is scheduled to depart more than 24 hours before the booked scheduled departure.
• In case the passenger does not opt for an alternate flight, they will receive a refund of the full value of the ticket and compensation equal to 400% of the booked one-way basic fare plus airline fuel charge, subject to a maximum of INR 20,000.

Denied boarding compensation shall be paid in cash, via bank transfer, or - upon the passenger’s signed consent - in the form of travel vouchers, in accordance with DGCA CAR Section 3 - Air Transport Series ‘M’, Part IV, dated August 6, 2010.



2. Compensation for Denied Boarding on Connecting Flight:

If a passenger has booked connecting flights with SpiceJet and experiences a delay at the departure station due to denied boarding, they will be eligible for compensation for the first leg as per the provided provisions. This compensation applies when the passenger arrives at the final destination at least three hours later than the originally scheduled arrival time.



3. Conditions for Denying Boarding:

SpiceJet reserves the right to deny boarding to any passenger who is under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or where it is deemed necessary for the safety and comfort of the passenger, other passengers, or the protection of property. This includes concerns related to unsuitable attire, cleanliness issues, intoxication, or medical reasons. Boarding may also be denied in the absence of adequate travel documents, and no compensation shall be payable in such cases.

If, in our reasonable opinion, passenger conduct is observed to endanger the aircraft or any person or property on board, obstruct the crew in the performance of their duties, or fail to comply with any instructions of the crew, including but not limited to those with respect to smoking, consumption of alcohol or drugs at any place in the aircraft, or display behaviour creating inconvenience to the other passengers (including under the influence of alcohol), SpiceJet will have full right to take all steps and measures to prevent any such act, including restraint.

• Each such passenger shall also be liable to pay a penalty of INR 10,000 per passenger, which will be levied and must be paid immediately.
• Additionally, such passengers may be refused onward carriage at any point and may be prosecuted for offences committed on board the aircraft.
• Further SpiceJet reserves the right to offload you from the flight and recover from each such passenger any and all costs (whether direct or consequential) incurred as a result of your behaviour, including but not limited to air traffic control charges, diversion fuel costs, airport landing charges, necessary flight crew costs, costs incurred due to disrupted operations, flight delays, misconnections, and inconvenience to other passengers.

• In the event of death or bodily injury sustained by a passenger while on board a SpiceJet flight, or during the course of carriage by air, SpiceJet's liability will be determined in accordance with the applicable provisions of the Carriage by Air Act, 1972, and any subsequent amendments. If it is found that the passenger's own negligence caused or contributed to the injury, SpiceJet will be fully exempt from liability.
• SpiceJet will not be held responsible for any illness, injury, disability, or death resulting from a pre-existing medical condition or the worsening of such a condition during their travel with SpiceJet.
• Furthermore, SpiceJet expressly disclaims liability for any illness, injury, or death caused by any disease, epidemic, or pandemic, contracted on board a SpiceJet flight or during the boarding, disembarking, or related processes.
• In cases where SpiceJet assists in transporting passengers of another airline due to service disruptions in other airlines, SpiceJet assumes no responsibility for the actions or omissions of the other airline, including delays, flight status changes, or any operational issues arising from their services.

Right to Modify Flight Operations: The company reserves the right, without assigning any reason, to cancel or delay the commencement or continuance of the flight, alter the stopping place, deviate from the route of the journey, or change the type of aircraft in use without incurring any liability in damages or otherwise to the passengers or any other person on any ground whatsoever. The company also reserves the right to refuse to carry any person whom it considers unfit to travel or who, in the opinion of the company, may pose risks to the aircraft or the persons on board.

Overloading Policy: If, at any stage, it is found that the aircraft will be overloaded with the booked load or passengers, the company will have the right to decide which passengers or articles shall be off-loaded, and such decision shall be binding.

Liability Disclaimer: SpiceJet shall not be liable for any damage resulting from acts of error or omission in timetables or other published schedules, or representations made by its employees, agents, or representatives regarding the date and/or time of departure/arrival or operation of any flight, except in cases where it is proven that the intention was to cause such damage. At SpiceJet, we operate as a ticketless airline, meaning that an itinerary does not constitute a document of carriage. The booking in the SpiceJet database serves as the primary record of carriage. In the event of discrepancies between the itinerary and the booking in our database, the latter will prevail. The ticket remains the property of the issuing carrier at all times, and SpiceJet does not issue open tickets, meaning no period of validity is applicable. Below are important travel policies you should be aware of:

1. Identification and Travel Requirements
• Identification Requirements:

  SpiceJet will provide carriage only to the passenger(s) named on the ticket. Passengers are required to present appropriate identification proof at the time of travel. For all international flights, a valid passport is the only acceptable form of identification.

• International Travel Documentation:

  For all international flights, the passport must be valid for at least six months from the date of travel. Passengers are responsible for ensuring they have valid visas and other required travel documents. SpiceJet advises passengers to confirm travel requirements with the consulate of the destination country. The Passenger is solely responsible for obtaining all necessary travel documents and visas and for complying with all applicable laws, regulations, orders, demands, requirements, rules, or instructions of the countries they will be travelling to, from, or through. SpiceJet shall not be liable for any consequences resulting from a passenger's failure to secure these documents or comply with such laws, regulations, orders, demands, requirements, rules, or instructions.

  Disembarkation Card Requirement for Foreign Nationals

  All foreign nationals visiting India are required to fill out the Disembarkation Card at least 72 hours prior to their arrival. The online form can be completed through the following platforms:

• Boarding Pass Retention:

  Passengers are advised to retain their boarding pass until they exit the terminal for security reasons. Passengers on via and connecting flights should keep their boarding pass handy for physical checks at transit points.

• Refusal of Entry:

  If a passenger is denied entry into any country, they will be responsible for any fines or charges imposed on SpiceJet by the relevant Government and for the cost of their transportation from that country. The fare collected for travel to the point of refusal or denied entry will not be refunded by SpiceJet.

• Passenger Responsibility for Fines and Costs:

  If SpiceJet incurs any fines, penalties, or expenses due to the passenger's failure to comply with the laws, regulations, orders, or travel requirements of the concerned countries, or if the passenger fails to produce the required documents, the passenger shall reimburse SpiceJet on demand for any amounts paid or expenses incurred. SpiceJet may use any value of unused carriage on the passenger’s ticket or any of the passenger’s funds in SpiceJet’s possession towards such payments or expenditures.

• Customs Inspection:

  Passengers must attend inspections of their baggage conducted by customs or other Government officials when required. SpiceJet will not be liable for any loss or damage incurred during such inspections or due to the Passenger's failure to comply with this requirement.

• Security Inspection:

  Passengers must agree to undergo any security checks conducted by Governments, airport officials, carriers, or SpiceJet.

2. Fares and Charges
• Fares:

  Fares apply only for carriage from the airport at the point of origin to the airport at the point of destination unless otherwise expressly stated. Fares do not include ground transport services between airports and town terminals. Passengers’ fares are calculated in accordance with SpiceJet’s Tariff on the date of payment for travel on the specific dates and itinerary shown on the ticket. Any change in itinerary or travel dates may alter the fare.

• Fare Types and Restrictions:

  Certain tickets may be sold at discounted fares that can be partially or completely non-refundable. Passengers should choose fares based on their needs, as some fares may have restrictions on changes and cancellations. Promo/sale fares are typically non-refundable, and changes may not be permitted. In case of cancellation of a non-cancellable ticket, only the taxes, duties, levies, or fees will be refunded.

• Taxes, Duties, Fees, and Surcharges:

  The amount of applicable taxes, duties, fees, charges, or surcharges payable by the passenger is calculated on the date of ticket issuance. If there are changes to these charges after issuance, passengers are not obligated to pay any additional amount unless they change their travel date or rebook the ticket. Certain surcharges, such as User Development Fees, may also need to be paid to regulatory authorities. For flights from Kathmandu to India, an additional 13% VAT applies to all ancillary products, whether booked in advance or at the airport.

• Convenience Fees

  A non-refundable convenience fee will be levied on all transactions, as detailed below:

• Currency:

  Fares, taxes, fees, and charges are payable in the currency of the country where the ticket is issued unless another currency is specified by SpiceJet or its authorised agent. SpiceJet may accept payment in other currencies at its discretion.

3. Acceptance of Foreign (Non-Indian) Credit and Debit Cards

   Foreign (Non-Indian) credit and debit cards are accepted by SpiceJet under the following conditions:

   • Accepted Card Types: Visa, MasterCard, and American Express cards are accepted.
   • Cardholder Verification:For all foreign (Non-Indian) credit/debit card payments, the card must be presented for physical verification at the airport check-in counter if the passenger is the cardholder.
   • Cardholder Not Traveling: If the cardholder is not traveling, the passenger must provide the airport check-in staff with a physical copy of the front side of the credit/debit card, duly authorized by the cardholder, along with the cardholder’s valid proof of identification.
   • Boarding Refusal: In the absence of the credit/debit card, the required copy, or if there is an identity mismatch, SpiceJet will be constrained to refuse boarding.
4. Reservation and Personal Data
   • Reservation Requirements:

     Some fares may limit or exclude the right to change or cancel reservations. Passengers are required to provide SpiceJet or its authorised agents with a valid mobile number at the time of reservation for each city in their itinerary. This information will assist the airline in informing passengers of any irregularities with their booked flight.

   • Personal Data:

     The Passenger acknowledges that their personal data has been provided to SpiceJet for various purposes, including making a reservation, purchasing a ticket, obtaining ancillary services or products offered by SpiceJet and its partners, developing and enhancing services, facilitating immigration and entry procedures, and sharing this data with government agencies in connection with their travel. The Passenger authorises SpiceJet to retain and use this data and to transmit it to the airline’s offices, authorised agents, government agencies, other carriers, or providers of the aforementioned services. Additionally, the Passenger understands that SpiceJet and/or its partners may contact them via email or other means to inform them about account status, changes to services, or to provide information about other services offered or planned.

6. Special Assistance

   At SpiceJet, we are committed to offering special assistance to passengers requiring extra support during their journey. This includes wheelchair assistance for passengers with mobility needs and accommodating unaccompanied minors (children aged 5-12 years traveling alone). Please note, SpiceJet currently does not accommodate stretchers, guide dogs, or pets on international routes, and their carriage is restricted on specific routes. For full details, refer to SpiceJet’s Special Assistance.

   • Unaccompanied Minor Policy:

     Children under the age of 12 require adult accompaniment at all times. SpiceJet accepts children aged between 5 and 12 years travelling alone as unaccompanied minors (UNMR inventory), except for flights to Dubai, where the age limit extends to 18 years, mandating the use of the unaccompanied minor service.

     1. UNMR Booking: The Unaccompanied Minor (UNMR) service can be booked through our website, mobile app, or by calling our reservation numbers: +91 (0)124 4983410 or +91 (0)124 7101600. To book through our website, simply select the "Unaccompanied Minor" option on the homepage when searching for flights.
     2. Fee: An additional fee for each one-way journey for unaccompanied minors will be charged and added to the total booking amount at the time of ticket purchase, as detailed below:

     3. Travel Requirements:
        • The Unaccompanied Minor Form (UNMR form) must be completed and signed by the child’s parent(s) or guardian(s) before the departure date. The form can be viewed and downloaded from https://corporate.spicejet.com/content/pdf/UNMR_Form.pdf.
        • If there is more than one minor travelling under the same PNR, only one UNMR form is required, provided that the minors share the same parents, address, and contact number.
        • On the day of departure, passengers must carry four printed copies of the signed and completed UNMR form to the ticketing counter. This form authorises the airline to care for the child until they are handed over to the designated recipient upon arrival.
        • Along with the copies of the UNMR form, it is also mandatory to present valid photo identification for both the parent/guardian and the minor(s).
        • Parent/guardian and the minor(s) must arrive at the departure airport at least 3 hours prior to departure for a smooth handover of the unaccompanied minor(s) to the airport staff.
        • After the necessary paperwork is processed, the airport staff will take responsibility for the minor(s) from that point onward.
     4. Care and Assistance for Unaccompanied Minors:
        • Airline staff will assist unaccompanied minors throughout the journey, including during airport procedures.
        • Seats will be assigned closer to the cabin crew to ensure they are looked after at all times. Dedicated cabin crew will ensure their needs are met in-flight.
        • A complimentary meal and beverage are provided on board from the available options.
     5. Travel Restrictions for Unaccompanied Minors:
        • Unaccompanied minors are not accepted if an overnight stay is required for flight connections.
        • SpiceJet does not transfer unaccompanied minors to international terminals for connecting flights with other airlines.
        • Unaccompanied minors cannot transit between domestic and international flights with SpiceJet.
     6. Arrival Handover:
        • Upon arrival, minor(s) are released only to the authorised individual specified in the form, who must present valid photo identification.
        • The authorised individual designated to receive the unaccompanied minor(s) at the arrival city must arrive at the airport as per the estimated flight arrival time and contact the SpiceJet office for coordination.
        • Once the minor(s) have been handed over from the flight to our arrival staff, our team will coordinate with the authorised individual for the minor(s)' handover.
        • The authorised individual must present valid photo identification to the arrival staff before the minor(s) are released.
        • Any checked-in baggage will be collected by the airline’s arrival staff and handed over along with the minor(s) to the parent/guardian.
     7. Web Check-in Restriction for Unaccompanied Minors: Unaccompanied minors (UNMR) are not eligible for web check-in. Check-in will be completed with the assistance of airline staff when the minor is dropped off at the airport ticketing counter by the parent/guardian.

     Important information regarding Minors & Children below the age of 18 years traveling to the UAE:

     Children aged 5 to 18 years can travel alone to the UAE only as unaccompanied minors, and must have a copy of their parents' passports. They also need to have a form filled out by their parents with relevant details of their home address/U.A.E. address, and information about who will be receiving them in the UAE.

     If the minor or child is traveling with another family member, an authorization letter from the parents or guardians, along with a copy of the parent or guardian's passport, is required.

     The minor may be deported if immigration suspects illegal activity and the provided information is insufficient to address it. In such cases, the normal INAD process and subsequent fines will apply.

   • Wheelchair Assistance:
     • Service Availability: SpiceJet provides wheelchair assistance for passengers requiring it. Due to limited availability, passengers are advised to request a wheelchair at least 24 hours prior to their scheduled departure time.
     • Charges for Wheelchair Assistance:
       • For wheelchair service requests made at the airport, SpiceJet does not charge a fee if the service is available as per inventory, except for flights departing from Bangkok and Kathmandu. For Bangkok departures, a handling fee of THB 500 applies, and for Kathmandu departures, a fee of USD 20 or NPR 2800 will be applicable.
       • If passengers arrange third-party wheelchair services without notifying SpiceJet, additional handling charges may be imposed by the airport operator or handling agency at the departing airport in a foreign country. Passengers are encouraged to verify any applicable charges with the relevant airport authorities prior to their travel.
7. In-Flight Guidelines and Services
   • Smoking Restrictions:
     • Smoking is not allowed on any SpiceJet flights, and all lavatories on SpiceJet aircraft are equipped with smoke detectors to ensure compliance with this policy.
   • Payment Methods and On-board Purchases:
     • Coins are not accepted on all our flights.
     • On international flights, SpiceJet accepts US dollars and local currency (excluding coins) of the originating or destination country, except for Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives, where only USD and INR are accepted.
     • In the event of any failure, decline, or rejection of payment by the concerned bank for card payments made on board, it is the sole responsibility of the passenger to settle the declined payment. If the passenger fails to do so, SpiceJet reserves the right to initiate appropriate action for recovery of such amounts, including any additional expenses incurred by SpiceJet. By making any on-board purchases, passengers accept the applicable terms and conditions, and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts at New Delhi, India.
   • Food and Beverage Services - Pre-Booking and On-Board Menu:
     • Meal Options: SpiceCafé offers a variety of hot meals, sandwiches, chef's specials, and dietary-specific meals, including diabetic options, Jain meals, and low-calorie salads, available for pre-booking at discounted rates. Additionally, passengers may pre-book a 500 g Mocha cake to surprise their loved ones.
     • Pre-Booking Timeline: Meals can be pre-booked up to 6 hours prior to departure, while special meals and cakes can be pre-booked up to 24 hours and 48 hours prior to departure, respectively.
     • On-Board Menu: Our on-board menu includes a selection of ready-to-eat products, snacks, and beverages for passengers to enjoy during the flight.
     • Non-Availability of Pre-Booked Items: In the event that a pre-booked food item is unavailable, SpiceJet will provide an alternative food option or issue a full refund for the pre-booked item in the form of a voucher. This voucher can be used for similar future purchases at SpiceJet's discretion and without further liability.
     • Pre-booking and Onboard Sale and Consumption of Alcohol: SpiceJet offers passengers the convenience of pre-booking select alcoholic beverages or purchasing them onboard for consumption during select international flights. However, we emphasise the importance of consuming alcohol responsibly while adhering to applicable laws and regulations.
       1. Pursuant to applicable laws, individuals below the age of 25 years on the date of travel are prohibited from consuming alcohol.
       2. By pre-booking, purchasing, or consuming alcohol on a SpiceJet international flight, the passenger affirms, confirms and undertakes they meet the legal age requirement to purchase and consume alcoholic beverage on board SpiceJet’s flights and are physically and mentally fit to do so. SpiceJet reserves the right to require passengers to furnish necessary supporting documentation as proof of age prior to service of alcoholic beverage.
       3. Alcoholic beverages will be served subject to availability on board and at SpiceJet’s sole discretion. SpiceJet reserves the right to refuse, restrict and/or discontinue alcoholic beverage service to any passenger in its sole discretion, including but not limited to those exhibiting signs of intoxication or behaviour indicative of a loss of self-control.
       4. Alcoholic beverages can be pre-booked up to 6 hours before the scheduled departure time for consumption on board international flights.
       5. Pre-booked alcohol or beverages purchased onboard from the inflight sales list are strictly for consumption on board and cannot be removed from the aircraft. Carrying any unconsumed alcoholic beverage off the aircraft is strictly prohibited.
       6. Alcoholic beverage will not be served to any person suffering from any mental disorder and/or epilepsy and/or other pre-existing medical condition.
       7. Pre-booking for alcoholic beverages is limited to 1 (one) order per passenger. Same will be applicable for group bookings as well, where each eligible passenger on the PNR can only pre-book only 1 (one) order. Each order will contain 2 alcoholic beverages of the same type. Illustration: If a passenger pre-books 1 (one) order of beer, he/she will be served 2 (two) beer cans only.
       8. Pre-booking for alcoholic beverage is only permitted for SpiceJet’s international flights. Sale and consumption of alcohol on-board SpiceJet’s domestic flights is strictly prohibited.
       9. Any pre-booking for alcoholic beverage is final, and cannot be changed or cancelled by passengers. No refund shall be made in the event any pre-booked alcoholic beverage is not consumed by a passenger.
       10. All alcoholic beverage prices are inclusive of applicable taxes.
       11. All products are subject to availability and may be changed, varied or withdrawn at any time, without prior notice.
       12. Any and all images or visual representations of alcoholic beverages, if any, are for illustrative purposes only and do not amount to promotion or advertisement of any kind of alcohol consumption or brands. For on-board purchase and consumption, passengers can reach out to concerned cabin crew for particular brands available for on-board purchasing and consumption during international flights.
       13. Passengers can carry sealed bottles of alcohol purchased from duty-free shops, but it must comply with airline and customs guidelines. Passengers must retain the purchase receipt in case it is needed for customs clearance or security inspections.
       14. Alcohol bottles should be in its original retail packaging, and open or partially consumed bottles are not allowed.
       15. Passengers are not allowed to drink their own alcohol on-board SpiceJet’s flights, whether purchased from airport, duty-free shops and/or otherwise carried from outside.
       16. Passengers conduct on board SpiceJet’s aircraft shall at all times be subject to applicable laws, including but not limited to the Aircraft Rules, 1937.
       17. For any and all circumstances including beyond those stated above, final discretion shall rest with SpiceJet. SpiceJet reserves the right to amend, add, delete and/or modify any of these terms and conditions, prospectively or retrospectively, at its sole discretion and without prior notice.
       18. It is clarified and clearly understood that by way of offering service of pre-booking and/or sale of alcoholic beverages onboard for consumption during select international flights, SpiceJet is neither endorsing nor sponsoring, advertising or promoting any wine, beer, alcohol, liquor or other intoxicants through any means, whether print or electronic or otherwise, and whether directly or indirectly, and the same is strictly prohibited under law.
   • If a corporate passenger voluntarily purchases an upgrade or is upgraded to SpiceMax, their entitlement to one meal and one beverage will remain unchanged, without any provision for an additional complimentary serving.
8. Seat Assignment Policy

   Passengers have the option to pre-book seats for a nominal fee to secure their preferred seating. However, all seat assignments, including pre-booked seats, are subject to change if operational, safety, or security criteria arise. If a seat has not been pre-booked, seats will be assigned at the airport check-in counters on a first-come, first-served basis. SpiceJet reserves the right to assign or reassign seats at any time, even after boarding of the aircraft.

9. Emergency Exit Row Seating

   Emergency exit rows are specific seating rows on an aircraft that are located near emergency exits, usually on the wings of the plane. These rows are strategically positioned to provide easy access to emergency exits in case of an evacuation. The primary purpose of these seats is to ensure the swift and safe evacuation of passengers in the event of an emergency, such as a fire, crash, or other situations where an immediate evacuation might be necessary.

   Passengers seated in emergency exit rows have additional responsibilities and must meet certain criteria, as outlined by aviation regulations and the airline's policies.

   Due to their importance in ensuring passenger safety, passengers seated in emergency exit rows are always briefed by the cabin crew on how to properly operate the exit door and assist in an evacuation if needed.

   Criteria for Emergency Exit Row Seating:

   Passengers who pre-book emergency exit row seats or are assigned to these seats must meet the following conditions:

   • Be above the age of 15 years on the date of travel.
   • Be physically and mentally capable of performing tasks associated with opening the emergency exit, as outlined in DGCA CAR - Section 8, Series O, Part VIII, Issue I.
   • Not suffer from any temporary illness affecting mobility.
   • Not be travelling with an infant or requiring additional safety assistance, such as pregnant women, individuals using extension seat belts, travellers with guide dogs, or individuals with medical conditions.
   • Be willing and able to:
     • Locate and recognise the emergency exit and its opening mechanism.
     • Comprehend and follow crew instructions regarding emergency exit operations.
     • Follow oral directions and hand signals given by a crew member.
     • Operate the emergency exit and secure the door so it does not impede use of the exit.
     • Assist other passengers and follow a safe path away from the exit in an emergency.
     • Assess, select, and follow a safe path away from the emergency exit.

   Passengers seated near an emergency exit must pay special attention to instructions provided by the cabin crew during briefing sessions on emergency procedures.

   If a passenger does not meet these criteria or is unwilling to sit at the emergency exit, SpiceJet may reallocate their seat, particularly during take-off and landing, to ensure safety. SpiceJet also reserves the right to change an assigned seat without prior notice in exigent circumstances, with the seat fee refunded if applicable.

10. Electronic Devices

    For safety reasons, SpiceJet may restrict or prohibit the operation of certain electronic devices aboard the aircraft. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:

    
    
    1. Cellular telephones
    2. Laptop computers
    3. Portable recorders
    4. Portable radios
    5. CD players
    6. Electronic games
    7. Transmitting devices, such as radio-controlled toys and walkie-talkies

    However, the operation of hearing aids and heart pacemakers is permitted.

    Passengers are advised to comply with any instructions from cabin crew regarding the use of electronic devices during the flight.

11. Carriage of Infants
    • Classification and Travel Policy: "Infants" are defined as children aged above 7 days and below 2 years on the travel date, while "passengers" are those aged 2 years and above. Infants below 7 days of age will require medical authorization from a physician for acceptance. Unaccompanied travel for infants is not permitted, and bookings for infants cannot be made as stand-alone reservations.
    • Age Proof: Carry the infant's passport for age verification at the airport on the travel day for international flights. Failure to provide valid age proof (in this case, the passport) will result in the need to pay the applicable fare at the time of booking, subject to seat availability.
    • Check-In and Documentation: Arrive early at the airport to allow sufficient time for check-in, security checks, and potential delays. Ensure you have all necessary valid documents for your infant, including their passport and visa.
    • Seating and Fees: Infants travel on their parent/guardian's lap and do not require separate seats. Each adult can travel with a maximum of one infant due to limited inventory. An additional fee for infants will apply as follows:

1. UAE Travel Requirements

   Passengers intending to travel to the UAE should be aware of specific restrictions as outlined below.

   • Single-Name Passport Restrictions:

     As per the National Advanced Information Center (NAIC) in the UAE, passengers holding passports with a single name will not be accepted on flights to the UAE. However, the following exemptions apply:

     • Passengers with a valid UAE residence visa and Emirates ID.
     • Passengers whose passports display their father’s or family name on the second page and whose visa shows more than one name.
     • Passengers eligible for a Visa-on-Arrival whose passports have their father’s or family name printed on the second page.
   • "Ok to Board" Requirement for UAE/Dubai:

   This requirement is designed to verify that passengers have the necessary visas and travel documents before departure.

   Not Required for:

   • Customers holding a valid Resident Permit or passport stamped with a Resident Visa.
   • Customers eligible for Visa-on-Arrival, regardless of nationality.
   • Customers travelling with a print-out of Business and Tourist e-Visa.

   Mandatory for:

   • Customers holding ECR (Emigration Check Required) passports.
   • Customers travelling with a print-out of Labour & Work e-Visas.
   • Important Information Regarding Minors and Children Below 18 Years Traveling to the UAE
   • Children aged 5 to 18 years can only travel to the UAE as unaccompanied minors. They must carry a copy of their parents' passports and a form completed by their parents, which includes relevant details about their home address, UAE address, and information about the individual who will receive them in the UAE.
   • If the minor is traveling with another family member, an authorization letter from the parents or guardians is required, along with a copy of the parent or guardian's passport.
   • Please be advised that if immigration authorities suspect illegal activity, the minor may be deported if the provided information is insufficient to clarify the situation. In such instances, the standard INAD process and applicable fines will be enforced.
2. Thailand (Bangkok) Travel Requirements

   Passengers intending to travel to Thailand should be aware of specific restrictions as outlined below:

   • Passport Validity for Thailand Entry: Passengers travelling to Thailand, including Bangkok, on a standard visa/passport must ensure their travel documents are valid for at least 6 months from the date of arrival. For passengers with a Visa-on-Arrival, the passport must be valid for a minimum of 30 days from the date of arrival.
   • Thailand Digital Arrival Card (Effective from 1 May 2025):

     All passengers travelling to Thailand must update their Thailand Digital Arrival Card online at https://tdac.immigration.go.th/arrival-card/#/home before arrival. They must also download or keep a printed copy for the duration of their stay.

     Note: The Thailand Digital Arrival Card is not a visa and is valid for one-time use for travel on the expected date of arrival.

3. Nepal Travel Requirements

   Passengers intending to travel between India and Nepal should be aware of the identity document requirements outlined below:

   • Citizens of Nepal and Bhutan (Travelling to and from India) do not require a passport or visa. However, they must carry one of the following documents:
   • Nepalese/Bhutanese Passport (for all age groups)
   • Nepalese/Bhutanese Citizenship Certificate
   • Voter ID issued by the Election Commission of Nepal/Bhutan
   • Limited-validity Photo ID Certificate issued by the Nepalese/Bhutanese Missions in India (if required)
   • Children (0–3 years): Original Birth Certificate with date of birth and parents' names
   • Children (4–9 years): Original Birth Certificate when travelling with parents, along with a Photo ID/School ID or Passport
   • Children (10–16 years): Original Birth Certificate along with a Photo ID/School ID or Passport
   • Above 16 years: Passport or Citizenship Certificate
   
   
   • Citizens of India (Travelling to and from Nepal) do not require a passport or visa when entering by land or air. However, air travellers must carry one of the following documents:
   • Valid Indian Passport (for all age groups)
   • Voter ID issued by the Election Commission of India
   • Emergency Certificate issued by the Embassy of India, Kathmandu
   • Identity Certificate issued by the Embassy of India, Kathmandu
   • Persons below 15 years or above 65 years are exempt from carrying the above documents but must have a photo ID confirming age and identity (e.g. PAN Card, Driving Licence, CGHS Card, Ration Card)
   • Children (15–18 years): May travel with an original School ID issued by the school principal
   • Children (0–3 years): Original Birth Certificate with date of birth and parents' names
   • Children (4–14 years): Original Birth Certificate with Aadhaar (as Photo ID) or School ID with current academic session, or Passport
   • Children (15–18 years): School ID with current academic session or Passport

   Note: Foreign nationals must carry a valid passport and are advised to check with their respective consulates for travel requirements and visa regulations.

1. Web Check-in for International Flights

   For international flights departing from India, web check-in is recommended and available between 48 hours and 75 minutes prior to departure. However, to ensure a smooth immigration process, passengers must still report to the airport check-in counter for mandatory documentation verification. For international flights departing from other countries, passengers can check in directly at SpiceJet’s airport counters.

2. Check-in Deadlines and No-Show Policy

   Airport check-in counters open three hours before departure and close 60 minutes prior. Passengers who fail to complete check-in formalities within this timeframe will be treated as "no-show," resulting in forfeiture of the ticket amount and cancellation of their booking. The passenger will not be entitled to a refund or a credit shell. However, only the PSF and UDF may be refunded upon request by the passenger by writing to SpiceJet at the designated email id: custrelations@spicejet.com.

3. Check-in for Connecting Flights

   Passengers must carry all required travel documents and visas and comply with all applicable laws, regulations, orders, and travel requirements for international travel. Check-in begins 3 hours before the departure time for international flights and 2 hours for domestic flights. Counters close 60 minutes before departure for all flights. For passengers connecting between domestic and international flights, the following procedures apply:

   • At check-in, passengers will be issued boarding passes only up to the point of transit. The boarding card for the final international leg of the journey will be issued only at the last departing station.
   • Passengers are required to collect their baggage at the transit point from the arrivals area.
   • Transportation between the arrivals terminal and the departure terminal may be provided by the Airport Operator. If unavailable, passengers must arrange their own transport.
   • Food or lodging will not be provided at the transit points.
   • SpiceJet will not be responsible for any delay due to immigration/custom clearance leading to a missed onward connection. The Passenger may have to purchase a new ticket.
4. Facilitation Fee for Check-in Assistance

   For passengers requiring assistance with check-in or boarding pass re-issuance through the Reservation Centre for international flights departing from India, a facilitation fee of Rs.200 per passenger will be charged. However, bookings for armed forces personnel, senior citizens, unaccompanied minors, and passengers with medical conditions/stretchers are exempt from this fee.

5. Boarding Requirements

   Passengers must be present at the boarding gate no later than the time specified to them during check-in, as the gate closes 25 minutes before departure.

6. Group Travel

   Passengers traveling in a group of 40 or more are advised to arrive at the airport at least an additional 30 minutes before the standard check-in time to ensure timely boarding.

7. Reservation Cancellation

   SpiceJet reserves the right to cancel a passenger’s reservation if check-in deadlines are not met or if the passenger fails to arrive at the boarding gate on time. Passengers will be informed of these deadlines by SpiceJet or its authorized agents.

8. Liability for Non-Compliance

   SpiceJet will not be liable for any loss or expense incurred by passengers due to their failure to comply with these check-in and boarding provisions.

To ensure a smooth and stress-free journey with us, please adhere to our baggage policies. Here’s what you need to know about travelling with baggage:

• Check-In Allowance: Be aware of your check-in baggage allowance. Items exceeding this limit will incur excess baggage charges.
• Cabin Baggage Limits: Familiarise yourself with the allowances and dimensions for cabin baggage.
• Restricted Items: Adhere to restrictions on items permitted in cabin baggage.
• Label Your Bags: Clearly label your baggage with your name and address.
• Essential Items: Keep medication, important documents, valuables, and cash in your cabin baggage.
• Declare Restricted Items: Inform us of any arms or explosive substances you are carrying.
• Prohibited Items: Note the items that are strictly prohibited from being carried in both check-in and cabin baggage.

1. Hand Baggage Allowance and Guidelines

Passengers are permitted to carry hand baggage, subject to the following conditions:

• Maximum Weight: Each passenger may carry hand baggage of up to 7 kg, which includes any laptops and duty-free shopping bags.
• Maximum Dimensions:
  • For Q400 aircraft, the maximum overall dimensions of the hand baggage must not exceed 108 cm (Length + Width + Height).
  • For Boeing aircraft, the maximum overall dimensions of the hand baggage must not exceed 115 cm (Length + Width + Height).
• Charges for Excess Baggage: If the hand baggage exceeds the free allowance of 7 kg, applicable excess baggage charges at the airport will apply for up to 5 kg extra, with a maximum total of 12 kg permitted in the cabin.
• Infant Allowance: Passengers travelling with infants are allowed to carry an additional piece of hand baggage, not exceeding 7 kg, provided it adheres to the size limits specified above.
• Liquids, Aerosols, and Gels (LAGs): Passengers must adhere to the following regulations regarding liquids, aerosols, and gels:
  • Container Requirements: All LAG containers must be placed within a transparent, resealable plastic bag, with a maximum capacity of 1 litre. The recommended dimensions for this plastic bag are approximately 20.5 cm x 20.5 cm or 25 cm x 15 cm.
  • Compliance: Passengers are expected to comply with the Plastic Waste Management Rules, 2016, along with any amendments. All containers must fit comfortably within the bag, which should be fully sealed.
  • Availability: The airport operator will facilitate the provision of plastic bags for passenger use at security screening checkpoints.
• Additional Free Allowance: In addition to the hand baggage allowance, the following items may be carried free of charge, subject to applicable security regulations:
  • An overcoat, wrap, or blanket.
  • An umbrella or walking stick.
  • A lady's handbag, pocketbook, or purse.
  • A reasonable amount of reading material for the flight.
  • A small camera and/or a pair of binoculars.
  • Infant food for consumption during the flight.
  • A fully collapsible invalid's wheelchair, crutches, or other prosthetic devices necessary for the passenger’s use.
• Storage and Safety Regulations:
  • Cabin Storage: Hand baggage must fit under the seat in front of the passenger or in an enclosed storage compartment in the cabin. However, passengers seated in emergency exit rows must stow their hand baggage only in the overhead bins and not under the seats. If a passenger's hand baggage cannot be stored in this manner, is excessively heavy, or is deemed unsafe, it must be carried as checked baggage, in accordance with the relevant regulations.
  • Other Specifications: SpiceJet reserves the right to specify additional maximum dimensions and/or weight for hand baggage. If such specifications are not provided, the general guidelines stated herein will apply.
  • Items Requiring Prior Approval: Objects not suitable for carriage in the cargo compartment (such as delicate musical instruments), which do not meet the requirements as mentioned in the section above, will only be accepted for carriage in the cabin compartment if the passenger has given notice in advance and permission has been granted by SpiceJet. Passengers may be required to pay a separate charge for this service.
• Baggage Weight Policy: Passengers should be aware that the weight of checked-in baggage does not qualify for any difference in hand baggage weight, and vice versa.

2. Checked-in Baggage Allowance and Guidelines

For a smooth travel experience, please review the following guidelines regarding checked-in baggage on international flights:

• Passengers are permitted to carry two pieces of checked-in baggage free of charge on international flights. The total checked baggage weight allowance ranges between 20 and 30 kg, depending on the route.
• The dimensions of each checked baggage item must not exceed 158 cm (62 inches) when calculated as L + W + H
• The weight limit for checked-in baggage ranges between 20-30 kg, depending on the route. If passengers carry checked baggage weighing less than the stipulated limit, the remaining weight cannot be adjusted as hand baggage, and vice versa.
• Combining Baggage for Passengers on the Same PNR:

  Passengers travelling under the same PNR are allowed to combine their checked baggage. However, the weight of each individual bag must not exceed 32 kg as per airport baggage restrictions.

• Excess Baggage Policy:
  • Excess baggage can be pre-purchased online, through Reservations, or at Airport ticketing counters at least 6 hours prior to departure. Pre-booked excess baggage discounts may vary across different channels.
  • Pre-purchased baggage cannot be cancelled individually or used partially. For example, if a passenger has pre-purchased 5 kg of excess baggage but chooses not to carry any, the excess baggage is non-refundable. If a passenger pre-purchases 5 kg but only uses 4 kg, the remaining 1 kg is non-transferable, non-refundable, and non-reusable.
  • Each slab for prepaid excess baggage can be booked only once per PNR, per passenger, and per sector.

• Baggage Identification and Delivery:
  • It is recommended that checked baggage have the passenger’s name or personal identification clearly affixed to it.
  • Upon delivery of the passenger’s baggage intended for check-in, SpiceJet will take custody of the baggage and issue a Baggage Identification Tag for each piece.
  • Checked baggage will, whenever possible, be carried on the same aircraft as the passenger. However, SpiceJet reserves the right to carry it on an alternative flight for safety, security, or operational reasons. If checked baggage is carried on a subsequent flight, SpiceJet will deliver it to the passenger unless applicable law requires the passenger’s presence for customs clearance.
  • Receipt of Baggage: The receipt of checked baggage without complaint upon the conclusion of the journey shall serve as prima facie evidence that the baggage has been delivered in proper condition and without damage.
• Special Baggage:
  • Special baggage includes sports equipment, skiing equipment, golf bags, large musical instruments, bicycles, surfboards, and LCD/LED TVs larger than 39 inches. These items, when registered as checked baggage, will incur excess baggage charges in addition to standard charges for additional pieces of baggage.
  • The carriage of all special baggage is governed by the applicable terms and conditions for fragile items, as detailed in the relevant sections of these Conditions of Carriage.
  • LED/LCD TVs sized 39 inches and below are treated as normal checked baggage.
  • A maximum of two (02) LCD/LED TVs can be carried by one passenger as checked baggage, with both incurring charges.
  • The maximum accepted size for LED/LCD TVs is 55 inches.
  • Passengers travelling on SpiceJet from a foreign country to an Indian city and onwards to a domestic sector under the same PNR will not incur additional excess baggage or handling charges for special baggage at the transit station.
  • Connecting passengers from a foreign origin country to another foreign destination via India on SpiceJet, under the same PNR, will not incur additional excess baggage or handling charges for special baggage at the transit station.

3. Connecting Flight Baggage Policy

For a smooth transition between connecting flights, please be aware of the following baggage policies to ensure compliance and a hassle-free travel experience:

• Domestic to International Connections on SpiceJet:

  For passengers travelling on a domestic SpiceJet flight connecting to an international SpiceJet flight (or vice versa), the free baggage allowance of the international sector will apply for domestic travel within 24 hours of the international flight’s departure or arrival in India.

• Domestic Flights with International Connections on Other Airlines:

  Passengers travelling on a domestic SpiceJet flight with a connection to another airline for an international destination (or from an international destination) are allowed a free baggage allowance of 15 kg per passenger per flight.

• Point-to-Point Service:

  SpiceJet operates as a point-to-point carrier and does not offer through check-in for onward connections, whether with SpiceJet or other airlines. Passengers are required to check in separately for each flight. SpiceJet is not responsible for any missed connections or inconveniences that may arise as a result. Passengers should ensure they allow sufficient time between flights when changing aircraft or carriers during stopovers.

• Passengers arriving from an international flight and connecting to a domestic flight are not permitted to carry liquids exceeding 100 ml in their cabin baggage at security checkpoints. In line with BCAS regulations, duty-free liquor is also prohibited as hand baggage. It must be packed into checked-in baggage at the transit point.

4. Liability for Damage to Baggage

SpiceJet’s liability for damaged, or lost checked-in baggage is governed by the applicable Convention, with any necessary exceptions, modifications, or adaptations as periodically specified by the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India.

• SpiceJet assumes no liability for the normal wear and tear of baggage, including but not limited to scratches, torn zippers, straps, wheels, handles, scuffs, dents, soiling, or manufacturer defects.
• SpiceJet is not responsible for improperly packed, perishable, damaged, or fragile baggage, minor exterior damage due to regular wear and tear, or water damage to non-waterproof baggage.
• Passengers are strongly advised to remove perishable goods, valuables (such as cash, cameras, jewellery, electronics, etc.), and medication from their checked-in baggage and place them in their hand baggage. SpiceJet will not take responsibility for these items.
• Should passengers include valuables in their checked-in baggage despite this recommendation, they do so at their own risk. SpiceJet will not be held accountable for any pilferage, damage, or other loss of these valuables, and any claims in this regard cannot be directed towards SpiceJet, its employees, agents, or successors.
• SpiceJet is not liable for any loss or damage caused by delays in the carriage of passengers or baggage.
• SpiceJet is not liable for any damage caused by the passenger’s baggage. The Passenger shall be responsible for any damage caused by their baggage to other persons or property, including SpiceJet’s property.
• SpiceJet shall not be held responsible for any compensation claim arising from indirect, consequential, or remote causes of lost, delayed, or damaged checked-in baggage.
• SpiceJet’s responsibility for passengers' checked-in baggage begins when the baggage is checked in at the departure airport and continues until it is placed on the conveyor belt at the destination airport. We take every reasonable step to ensure the safe custody of the baggage during this period.
• Receipt of checked-in baggage without complaint at the end of the journey serves as prima facie evidence that the baggage was delivered correctly and in good condition.
• SpiceJet assumes no liability for fragile or perishable articles included in checked-in baggage.

SpiceJet will not be responsible for any loss, delay, or damage resulting from its compliance with the applicable laws or from a passenger’s failure to adhere to these laws. Under no circumstances will SpiceJet’s liability exceed the amount of proven damages.

1. Items Unacceptable as Baggage:

   The following articles or items must not be included in the passenger’s baggage:

• Items that are likely to endanger the aircraft or persons or property on board the aircraft, such as those specified in the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Technical Instructions for the Safe Transport of Dangerous Goods by Air and the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Dangerous Goods Regulations, and in SpiceJet’s regulations. Further information is available from SpiceJet on request, although illustrative examples include:
• Compressed gases (deeply refrigerated, flammable, non-flammable, and poisonous), such as butane, oxygen, liquid nitrogen, aqualung cylinders, and compressed gas cylinders such as camping gas.
• Corrosives such as acids, alkalis, mercury, and wet cell batteries and apparatus containing mercury.
• Explosives, munitions, fireworks, flares, blank cartridges, pistols, or any other weapons, and pistol caps.
• Flammable liquids and solids such as lighter refills, lighter fuel, matches, paints, thinners, firelighters, lighters that need inverting before ignition, substances liable to spontaneous combustion, and substances that emit flammable gases on contact with water.
• Radioactive materials.
• Briefcases and attaché cases with installed alarm or pyrotechnic devices.
• Oxidizing materials such as bleaching powder and peroxides.
• Poisons and infectious substances such as insecticides, weed killers, and live virus materials.
• Other dangerous articles such as magnetized materials and offensive or irritating materials.
• Items whose carriage is prohibited by the applicable laws, regulations, or orders of any state to be flown from or to.
• Items that are reasonably considered by SpiceJet to be unsuitable for carriage because they are dangerous or unsafe, because of their weight, size, shape, or character, or because they are fragile or perishable, having regard to, among other things, the type of aircraft being used. Information about unacceptable items is available upon request.
• Firearms and ammunition other than for hunting and sporting purposes are prohibited from carriage as baggage. Firearms and ammunition for hunting and sporting purposes may be accepted as checked-in baggage. Firearms must be unloaded, with the safety catch on, and suitably packed. The carriage of ammunition is subject to ICAO and IATA regulations as specified in Article.
• Dry cell batteries, scissors, sharp instruments, tools, and weapons such as antique firearms, toy weapons, swords, knives, and similar items may be accepted as checked-in baggage at SpiceJet’s sole discretion but will not be permitted in the cabin of the aircraft.
• The passenger must not include in Checked Baggage money, currency, jewellery, precious metals, computers, personal electronic devices, negotiable papers or instruments, securities or other valuables, business documents, passports, or other identification documents or samples. To the extent that it is necessary to carry such items (at the passenger’s risk), they should be carried in the passenger’s hand baggage in the cabin.
• Medicines and toiletries may be carried in limited quantities if they are necessary or appropriate during the passenger’s journey (to the extent that carriage is permitted by the appropriate regulations). Otherwise, many of these items can be carried as air cargo, provided they are packed in accordance with cargo regulations.
• If, despite being prohibited, any items referred to in the above points are included in the passenger’s baggage, SpiceJet shall not be responsible for any loss or damage to such items.
• Power banks and portable mobile chargers are allowed only in hand baggage and not in checked-in baggage. If any of these items are detected in the X-ray, your checked-in baggage will not be loaded on the flight due to security reasons. Older generation Apple MacBook Pro laptops with 15-inch screens purchased between September 15 and February 17 are prohibited from being carried in the cabin as well as checked-in baggage.
• The carriage of satellite phones (Thuraya and Iridium) is prohibited on all flights.

SpiceJet will not be responsible for, or have any liability in respect of, articles removed from the passenger’s baggage by airport security personnel acting in accordance with any applicable regulations.

2. Baggage Restrictions for International Travel

   Please take note of the following baggage restrictions, as mandated by regulations:

   Dubai: To ensure passenger safety, all checked-in baggage on flights to and from Dubai will be inspected for prohibited items as per the applicable laws. Items like pagers and walkie-talkies are prohibited on flights departing from or transiting through Dubai. Any such items found in hand or checked baggage will be confiscated.

   The regulatory authority may inspect checked-in baggage in the passenger’s absence. Neither the regulatory authority nor SpiceJet Limited is liable for any items removed, pilferage, loss, or damages, including to baggage locks.

3. Alcoholic Beverages Carriage Guidelines

The rules regarding the carriage of alcoholic beverages on SpiceJet flights are stated below:

• A maximum of 5 litres of alcoholic beverages with alcohol content between 24% and 70% by volume are permitted in retail packaging as checked-in baggage.
• The permissible limit of 5 litres includes duty-paid alcohol that passengers may buy from the airport. Bills for such purchases must always be kept handy.
• Alcoholic beverages carried on board by passengers are not permitted to be opened and/or consumed inside an aircraft.
• Carrying alcoholic beverages from or into the states of Bihar, Gujarat, Tripura, Mizoram, Nagaland, UT Lakshadweep, or any other state considered a ‘dry state’ is not permitted.
4. Carriage Policy for Portable Oxygen Concentrator (POC)

   The following guidelines apply to the carriage of Portable Oxygen Concentrators (POCs) on SpiceJet flights:

   • POCs are allowed on international (Boeing and Q-400) direct, via, or connecting flights.
   • POCs are permitted in both hand baggage and checked baggage.
   • Requests for the carriage of Portable Oxygen Concentrators (POCs) in-flight should be sent to custrelations@spicejet.com at least 48 hours prior to flight departure.
5. Authority to Conduct Searches

   For safety and security reasons, SpiceJet may request passengers to allow a search and scan of their person, as well as a search, scan, or x-ray of their baggage. If the passenger is unavailable, their baggage may be searched in their absence to check for prohibited items, including firearms, ammunition, or weapons not declared as per the aforementioned sections. If the passenger refuses to comply, SpiceJet reserves the right to deny carriage of the passenger and their baggage. SpiceJet is not liable for damage resulting from such searches or scans unless caused by the airline's fault or negligence.

6. Collection and Delivery of Checked Baggage
   • Passengers must collect their checked baggage as soon as it becomes available at their destination or stopover. If not collected within a reasonable time, SpiceJet may charge a storage fee. After three (3) months of unclaimed baggage, SpiceJet may dispose of it without liability.
   • Only the holder of the baggage check and identification tag is entitled to claim the checked baggage.
   • If a passenger cannot produce a baggage check or tag, SpiceJet may release the baggage to the claimant upon satisfactory proof of ownership.
   • SpiceJet is not responsible for the transfer of baggage to connecting flights.
7. Items Removed by Airport Security Personnel

   SpiceJet is not liable for items removed from passenger baggage by airport security personnel, acting in compliance with applicable regulations.

Live animals are permitted to be carried in the cargo hold for which the requirements are mentioned below.

• The period of validity of the veterinary health certificates should not be more than 48 hours before the time of schedule departure.
• AVI will be accepted only on direct flight.
• SpiceJet does not accept live rats, guinea pigs and any other animal emanating a strong odor on its flights. SpiceJet also does not accept reptiles and other poisonous animals on any of its flights.
• SpiceJet will not accept any live animal intended to be used for laboratory experimentation for transport on its network.
• The owner of the animal will be responsible for compliance with all the governmental customs and health requirements, including quarantine arrangements at destinations, entry permits and other documents required by countries of entry.
• Shipper's Declaration Form and a declaration indemnifying the airline will be obtained from the shipper at the Cargo warehouse.
• Carriage of Animals into any country by air as a cargo shall be in accordance with the terms and conditions of IATA Live Animals Regulations (LARS) and SpiceJet Policy.
• The pet dog must be properly muzzled and leashed.
• AVI will be carried in the cargo compartment of the aircraft.
• For CITES species, CITES Export / Re-Export Permit where required, veterinary examination, quarantine, or prohibition restrictions which may also include the food provided for the animal(s); also, the shipper shall obtain current requirements from local consulate or national authority concerned, if applicable.
• If AVI is required to be loaded on or in ULDs (Unit load device), then ULDs are only loaded onto aircraft that are compatible with the load and associated restrictions.

Health

• Animals shall not show any signs of illnesses. They shall be well fed (food and water) prior to transportation.
• The carriage of animals in an advanced state of pregnancy is prohibited.

Documentation

• Health documents stating the animal's fitness for carriage by air, breed, age of AVI and Fit to Fly Certification and Vaccination / Immunization record with Rabies vaccination date are required.

Minimum Age

Pets must be at least 4 months old for International flights or 3 months or 12 weeks old for Domestic flights. Females with young suckling, as well as puppies / kittens, will not be accepted.

• A maximum of two adult animals of comparable size of up to 14kg each that are used to cohabitation may be shipped in the same container. Animals over and above the aforementioned weight limit must travel individually.
• Animals up to six months old from the same litter, up to a maximum quantity of three, may be shipped in the same container.
• Maximum weight of AVI should not be more than 35kg excluding the cage weight.

Restricted Breeds

SpiceJet will not accept the following breeds of dogs, including snubbed-nose dogs and short-muzzled dog breeds, as these animals are known to be susceptible to increased risk of heat stroke (when exposed to stress or changes in temperature), breathing difficulties or increased travel stress.

SpiceJet will also not accept poisonous animals and those who are known to produce offensive odors.

AVI will be accepted only in the IATA Standard Fiber Cage. Maximum dimension of cage should not be more than 48 Inch (L) X 45 Inch (W) X 30 Inch (H).

 

Determination of kennel size and quality: The animal shall have enough space to turn around normally while standing, to stand and sit, and to lie in a natural manner.

For International

Animals when properly crated and accompanied by valid health and vaccination certificates, entry permits, and other documents required by countries of entry and/or transit will provisionally be accepted for carriage, with the advance agreement of carrier, subject to carrier's regulations and shall be in accordance with the terms and conditions of IATA Live Animals Regulations (LARS) by Air Cargo mode only.

All Shipper's intending to Import/Export AVI into/from India from/for all countries as cargo are required  to comply with applicable regulations and to have No Objection Certificate / Pre-import Clearance from Animal Quarantine & Certification Service (AQCS) in India, before the commencement of the journey to India. To India

In accordance with directives from the Customs Authority, no live animals to be imported unless the following conditions are met:

1. Prior approval from the Animal Quarantine;
2. Shipper shall obtain current requirements from local Consulate or the concerned national authority.
3. No Objection certificate from the AQCS (Animal Quarantine & Certification Services) to be obtained at least 7 days before arrival into India.
4. Import Permit would be required.
5. Shall be in accordance with the terms and conditions of the IATA Live Animals Regulations (LARS) and SpiceJet Policy.

At SpiceJet, we recognise that travel plans may require adjustments. Our policies for cancellations, changes, and delays are designed to provide the necessary support and flexibility. Below are the key details regarding each aspect of our policies.

1. Changes Initiated by the Passenger
• A change in flight date, time, origin, or destination constitutes a change in booking and will incur a flight change fee, plus any applicable fare difference.
• Changes to a booking may be made up to 4 hours prior to the scheduled departure time.
• A flight change fee will apply per passenger, per sector, per change. Please refer to the tables below for applicable fees on international bookings.
• If flight changes are requested via SpiceJet Reservations or at airport ticketing counters, an additional fee of INR 250 per passenger, per flight will be charged.
• In addition to the change fee, any upward difference between the original fare and the current fare, including changes in taxes, fees, and surcharges, will apply.
• If the current available fare is lower than the original, the balance will be retained as a credit shell.
• Split PNR Functionality:

  A feature offered to SpiceJet passengers across various channels, including the SpiceJet website, mobile app, mobile site, and reservation centres. This feature allows passengers to separate or "split" a portion of their booking into a new Passenger Name Record (PNR). The feature is designed to provide flexibility, enabling a passenger to modify or cancel their segment of the booking without affecting the entire reservation. You can easily access this functionality online via the "Manage Booking" tab on the SpiceJet website, as well as through the mobile app and mobile site.

  Key Features:

  1. Applicability:
     • The Split PNR functionality is available for bookings with two or more passengers on both domestic and international flights.
     • For Friends & Family fares, a minimum of four passengers is required in a PNR to be eligible for a split. After the split, each PNR must have at least two passengers. For bookings with five or more passengers, the split PNR must also include at least two passengers.
  2. Booking Changes: When a passenger is split from the original booking, a new PNR will be created for the split passenger. The contact details in the new PNR will remain unchanged from the original booking.
  3. The Split PNR functionality is not applicable to Group PNRs and LTC (Leave Travel Concession) PNRs.
  4. The cancellation and change policies applicable to the PNR will remain in accordance with the fare rules of the original booking.

  SpiceJet reserves the right to modify, alter, amend, or change any and all of the terms and conditions of this functionality at any time, without prior notice. SpiceJet also reserves the right to withdraw or cancel this offer at any time, without prior notice.

  Note: The Split PNR functionality is designed to ensure that any changes made by one passenger do not impact the rest of the booking. SpiceJet encourages passengers to carefully review all terms, conditions, and disclaimers before initiating the Split PNR process.

• Name Correction Policy:

  Recognising that booking errors can happen, SpiceJet is committed to providing a smooth travel experience. To help make your journey as easy as possible, we offer the opportunity to rectify minor discrepancies as outlined in the following guidelines:

• Name corrections can only be made once.
• Only one letter change is allowed in either the first or last name, including letter substitutions such as changing 'ee' to 'i'.
• Title correctionsare allowed at no additional charge, regardless of the time of change. However, once a title correction is made, no further name corrections will be permitted.
• Full name changes are not permitted.
• Initials are displayed as single letters and cannot be changed to different letters or expanded to full names. For example, if an initial is shown as 'A', it cannot be altered to 'B' or expanded to a full name.
• Name corrections are free within 24 hours of booking. After 24 hours, a Name Correction Fee of INR 500 for domestic flights and INR 1000 for international flights will apply.
• Passengers who have already checked in cannot make name corrections through our website or app. For assistance with this matter, please contact our reservations centre at +91 (0)124 4983410 or +91 (0)124 7101600.
• The name correction fee shall be deemed non-refundable in the event that the passenger cancels the ticket. However, such fee shall be refunded in instances where the flight is cancelled by the airline due to irregular operations.

2. Cancellation Initiated by the Passenger
• Look-In Option:

  SpiceJet provides a 24-hour "Look-In" period post-booking, during which passengers can amend or cancel their ticket without any additional charges, except for any applicable fare difference for the revised flight. This option is only applicable for bookings where the first leg of travel is scheduled to depart more than 7 days after the booking date. To avail of this option, passengers must contact SpiceJet's Reservation Centre at +91 (0)124 4983410 or +91 (0)124 7101600.

• Changes or cancellations to a booking may be made up to 4 hours prior to the scheduled departure time.
• Cancellations of a booking will attract a cancellation fee per passenger, per sector. Please refer to the tables below for applicable cancellation fees on international bookings.
• If booking cancellations are requested via SpiceJet Reservations or at airport ticketing counters, an additional fee of INR 250 per passenger, per flight will be charged.
• The balance amount after deductions will be retained under the original PNR as a credit shell.
• The credit shell may be adjusted for future bookings, provided at least one passenger from the original PNR is included in the new booking.

3. Cancellation Initiated by the Airline

SpiceJet will make all reasonable efforts to ensure the timely operation of its scheduled flights. However, unforeseen circumstances may cause a delay or cancellation of its scheduled operations. In the event of a booking cancellation initiated by the airline, the following guidelines will come into effect:

• Passenger(s) who have provided a correct and working mobile number or e-mail at the time of reservation and have been informed about flight cancellation at least two weeks before the scheduled time of departure shall be entitled to an alternate flight or a full refund, as per their preference. However, if passengers are informed of the cancellation less than two weeks before and up to 24 hours before the scheduled time of departure, SpiceJet shall offer an alternate flight or provide a full refund if no suitable alternative is available.
• Passengers who have not been informed as per the above provisions or have missed a connecting flight booked on the same PNR of a SpiceJet flight are entitled to the following options:
• SpiceJet will provide an alternate flight that is acceptable to the passenger.
• In the event that an alternate flight is not provided, SpiceJet will offer compensation in addition to a full refund of the air ticket. The compensation provided by SpiceJet will be in accordance with the compensation policy outlined by the airline, as mentioned below:
1. INR 5,000 or booked one-way basic fare plus airline fuel charge, whichever is less for flights having a block time of 01 hour or less.
2. INR 7,500 or booked one-way basic fare plus airline fuel charge, whichever is less for flights having block time of more than 01 hour and up to and including 02 hours.
3. INR 10,000 or booked one-way basic fare plus airline fuel charge, whichever is less for flights having a block time of more than 02 hours.

Flight cancellation compensation shall be paid in cash, via bank transfer, or - upon the passenger’s signed consent - in the form of travel vouchers, in accordance with DGCA CAR Section 3 - Air Transport Series ‘M’, Part IV, dated August 6, 2010.



• In situations where SpiceJet offers an alternative flight to or from an airport or terminal different from the one originally booked by the customer, the airline will bear the cost of the transfer between the alternate airport or terminal and the one for which the ticket was initially booked. However, if the passenger has been informed of the flight change at least 6 hours in advance, they will be responsible for making their own arrangements for the transfer to or from the alternate airport or terminal.
• In cases where adverse weather conditions or circumstances beyond SpiceJet's control lead to the cancellation or delay of your flight, SpiceJet will make efforts to aid you in reaching your destination. However, SpiceJet cannot be held liable for any consequences arising from the delay or cancellation.


4. Flight Rescheduling by the Airline:

If SpiceJet cancels a flight, prepones the flight schedule by sixty (60) minutes or more, or postpones the flight by one hundred and twenty (120) minutes or more, affected passengers have the following options:

• Alternate Flight Accommodation: Passengers can choose accommodation on alternate flights for the same sector within the next or preceding seven (07) days from the original date of journey, subject to availability and at SpiceJet's discretion. To avail themselves of this option, passengers must request these changes within 24 hours of the departure time of their original flight.

  OR

• Full Refund: Passengers can opt for a full refund of the amount paid for the original booking.


5. Delayed Flights and Passenger Entitlements

This section details the policies related to flight delays and the corresponding entitlements available to passengers, ensuring they are informed of their rights and the support they can expect during such situations. In the event that the passenger has checked in on time and the SpiceJet flight is delayed from its original scheduled departure time, SpiceJet shall provide reasonable refreshments to such checked-in passengers. The entitlements are as follows:

• Up to 2 hours: Drinking water will be provided.
• Between 2 to 4 hours: Tea, coffee, and light snacks or refreshments will be provided.
• More than 4 hours: Meals will be provided.

In the event that the expected time of departure is delayed in total by more than 24 hours from the original schedule time of departure, or in the event that the delay is more than 6 hours for the flights scheduled to depart between 2000 hours and 0300 hours, hotel accommodation shall be provided wherever necessary. SpiceJet shall have absolute discretion in the selection of hotels under the given circumstances, and no reimbursement shall be made in this regard.

Please note that SpiceJet does not provide connections with other airlines and shall not be liable for any losses incurred by passengers attempting to connect with flights operated by other carriers.

The following outlines the procedures and conditions for processing refunds on SpiceJet tickets:

• SpiceJet will process refunds for tickets in accordance with the applicable fare rules.
• Refunds will be issued using the same payment method and currency that was used for the original ticket purchase.
• The refund will be handled by the same entity from which the ticket was purchased.
• Once the ticket is cancelled, the refund will generally be processed within seven (7) working days.

SpiceReclaim (Voluntary Seat Surrender Programme)

1. Introduction

The SpiceReclaim Programme (“Programme”) is a voluntary initiative offered by SpiceJet Limited (“SpiceJet”) which permits passengers holding confirmed bookings on specific SpiceJet flights to surrender (i.e., cancel) their seats in exchange for a full refund of the original fare, together with a SpiceJet Travel Voucher (“Voucher”), subject always to the terms and conditions set forth herein.



2. Invitation to Participate

SpiceJet may, at its sole discretion, invite selected passengers to participate in the programme (“Invitation”).

An Invitation may be communicated through:

• Email to the “Primary Email ID” provided at the time of booking,
• WhatsApp or SMS to the registered mobile number (“Primary Number”), or
• Any other channel deemed appropriate by SpiceJet.

Each Invitation shall specify:

• The relevant flight details, and
• The offer details.

Issuance of an Invitation does not guarantee acceptance into the programme. SpiceJet reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to accept or reject any submission.



3. Participation and Offer Submission

Participation in the programme is entirely voluntary.

• To participate, passengers must click the link provided in the Invitation and follow the steps outlined on the SpiceJet website.
• It shall be deemed that any submission of an offer (whether acceptance or rejection) is made by an individual of at least eighteen (18) years of age.
• For PNRs containing multiple passengers, only the Primary Passenger (linked to the registered email/mobile) may submit the offer, and such submission shall be binding upon all passengers listed under the PNR.
• Partial acceptance of an offer shall not be permitted.
• By submitting an offer (acceptance or rejection), the Primary Passenger shall be deemed duly authorized to act on behalf of all passengers associated with the PNR.


4. Acceptance of Offer and Refund Process
• Acceptance of offers shall be subject to seat availability, and may be honored at SpiceJet’s discretion.
• Acceptance shall be communicated to the passenger via the Primary Email ID, Primary Number, or any other communication channel as determined by SpiceJet.
• Upon acceptance:
• The original booking shall be irrevocably cancelled.
• A full refund of the fare shall be processed.
• Vouchers shall be generated and transmitted to the Primary Passenger’s registered email and/or WhatsApp on the Primary Passenger’s mobile number.
• Each Voucher shall be issued in the name of the individual passenger and shall be strictly non-transferable.


5. Eligibility and Programme Conditions
• Eligibility shall be determined exclusively by SpiceJet.
• Only confirmed bookings on designated flights shall qualify for participation.
• Seats offered under the programme are limited in quantity and available only for a limited period.
• Invitations shall remain valid only for the defined duration and shall be honored on a first-come, first-served basis.
• Failure to respond within the stipulated timeframe shall result in automatic withdrawal.
• SpiceJet may, at its discretion, modify, suspend, or withdraw the programme, or revise eligibility criteria, without prior notice. The voucher amount specified in a particular Invitation shall apply only to that Invitation and may vary for subsequent offers.
• Where a PNR includes multiple passengers, acceptance of an offer shall result in cancellation of the entire booking.
• Partial surrender (i.e., cancellation) of seats within a PNR shall not be permitted.


6. Communication, Liability, and Force Majeure
• SpiceJet shall not be liable for any failure in delivery of communications due to incorrect or outdated contact details.
• SpiceJet’s liability shall be strictly limited to:
• The amount of the original fare paid, and
• The value of any Voucher issued.
• The programme is offered on a best-effort basis and remains subject to force majeure events, including but not limited to:
• Natural disasters,
• Governmental restrictions,
• Cyberattacks,
• Pandemics, or
• Technical disruptions beyond the control of SpiceJet.
• By accepting the refund and the Voucher, passengers irrevocably waive any and all further claims against SpiceJet in respect of the original booking, including but not limited to claims relating to delays, cancellations, or denied boarding.
• SpiceJet’s Terms of Carriage, available at www.spicejet.com, shall continue to apply.


7. Refund Terms
• Refunds shall be initiated to the original method of payment used at booking.
• Where the original mode is unavailable, SpiceJet may request alternative bank account details.
• Refunds may require seven (7) to ten (10) working days, subject to timelines imposed by payment gateways or banks.
• SpiceJet shall not be liable for any delay attributable to third-party service providers.


8. Voucher Terms and Usage
• Issuance and Validity
• Vouchers shall be issued in the passenger’s name and delivered solely to the Primary Passenger’s registered contact details.
• Vouchers are not redeemable for cash and are strictly non-transferable.
• Vouchers shall be valid for six (6) months from the date of issuance.
• Bookings must be completed within the validity period; however, travel may take place beyond the validity period provided the booking itself is made within such time.
• Redemption
• Vouchers may be redeemed through SpiceJet’s website, mobile application, or customer care channels.
• Vouchers may be applied toward select products or services offered by SpiceJet, which list shall be determined, and may be varied, at the sole discretion of SpiceJet.
• Vouchers may be redeemed only once and shall not be combined with other SpiceJet offers or promotions.
• Vouchers may not be redeemed on specified blackout dates.
• Any unused balance, including in cases of partial redemption, shall be forfeited.
• No replacements shall be issued for lost, stolen, or misused Vouchers. SpiceJet reserves the right to refuse redemption where fraud is suspected
• Redemption by Minors
• Vouchers issued in the name of minors must be redeemed by a parent, guardian, or the Primary Passenger.
• Travel must include the minor.
• SpiceJet reserves the right to verify identity or guardianship.


9. Offer Reinstatement and Duplicate Submissions
• Once accepted, bookings shall be permanently cancelled and shall not be reinstated
• If SpiceJet rejects an offer acceptance, the original booking shall remain valid.
• Re-submission of the same offer shall not be permitted.
• Only the first valid submission per PNR shall be entertained; any duplicate submissions shall be disregarded.


10. Technical Errors and Submission Confirmation
• Offers shall be deemed successful only upon confirmation via SpiceJet’s system.
• SpiceJet shall not be liable for technical failures, including but not limited to website downtime, server issues, or email filtering.
• Passengers are advised to retain submission receipts and confirmations for their records.


11. Feedback and Discretion
• By submitting an offer, passengers consent to being contacted by SpiceJet for feedback or surveys.
• Once submitted, an offer shall be irrevocable and binding upon all passengers under the PNR.
• SpiceJet shall have sole discretion to honor or disregard any offer acceptance, without being obliged to disclose reasons.


12. Misuse, Fraud, and Dispute Resolution
• SpiceJet may disqualify or suspend passengers or entities found to be misusing the programme, including but not limited to:
• Fraudulent activity,
• System manipulation, or
• Submission of falsified details.
• In the event of any dispute, SpiceJet’s decision shall be final and binding.
• All matters arising under these Terms and Conditions shall be governed by Indian law and shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts situated at New Delhi.

In the reasonable exercise of its discretion, SpiceJet reserves the right to refuse carriage to the passenger or their baggage if the passenger has received written notification indicating that SpiceJet will not carry them on its flights at any time following the date of such notice. In such instances, the passenger shall be entitled to a full refund.

SpiceJet may also refuse carriage to the passenger or their baggage if it reasonably believes that one or more of the following circumstances apply:

• Such action is deemed necessary to comply with applicable government laws, regulations, or orders.
• The carriage of the passenger or their baggage may endanger or affect the safety, health, or materially impact the comfort of other passengers or crew members.
• The passenger’s mental or physical condition, including impairment due to alcohol or drugs, presents a hazard or risk to themselves, other passengers, crew members, or property.
• The passenger has refused to submit to a required security check.
• The passenger has not paid the applicable fare, taxes, fees, or charges.
• The passenger does not possess valid travel documents, may attempt to enter a country for which they lack valid documentation, may destroy their travel documents during the flight, or refuses to surrender their travel documents to the flight crew upon request.
• The immigration authority for the destination country, or any country where the passenger has a stopover, has communicated (either orally or in writing) that the passenger will not be allowed entry, regardless of their travel document status.
• The passenger presents a ticket that has been acquired unlawfully, purchased from an entity other than SpiceJet or an authorized agent, is counterfeit, or cannot prove they are the person named in the ticket.
• The passenger presents a ticket that has been issued or altered in any way not performed by SpiceJet or its authorized agent.
• The passenger fails to observe SpiceJet’s instructions regarding safety or security.
• The passenger has refused or failed to undergo health screening or examination as requested by SpiceJet or a government enforcement agency.
• The passenger has not completed the check-in deadline or has failed to arrive at the boarding gate on time.
• The passenger has previously committed any of the acts or omissions referenced above, and SpiceJet has reasonable grounds to believe that they may do so again.

In the event of a situation arising due to unavoidable circumstances (e.g., clubbing of flights, change of aircraft type, flight overbooking, etc.) resulting in passengers being denied boarding against their will, the passenger(s) will be eligible for the following amount of compensation, as mentioned.

• Compensation for Denied Boarding and Alternate Flight Arrangements:
  Passengers who have been denied boarding will not qualify for compensation if an alternate flight is arranged to depart within one hour of the original scheduled departure time of their initial reservation. However, if no alternative arrangement is provided, passengers will be eligible for the following compensation:
• An amount equal to 200% of the booked one-way basic fare plus airline fuel charge, subject to a maximum of INR 10,000, in case SpiceJet arranges an alternate flight that is scheduled to depart within 24 hours of the booked scheduled departure.
• An amount equal to 400% of the booked one-way basic fare plus airline fuel charge, subject to a maximum of INR 20,000, in case SpiceJet arranges an alternate flight that is scheduled to depart more than 24 hours before the booked scheduled departure.
• In case the passenger does not opt for an alternate flight, they will receive a refund of the full value of the ticket and compensation equal to 400% of the booked one-way basic fare plus airline fuel charge, subject to a maximum of INR 20,000.

Denied boarding compensation shall be paid in cash, via bank transfer, or - upon the passenger’s signed consent - in the form of travel vouchers, in accordance with DGCA CAR Section 3 - Air Transport Series ‘M’, Part IV, dated August 6, 2010.



• Compensation for Denied Boarding on Connecting Flight:
  If a passenger has booked connecting flights with SpiceJet and experiences a delay at the departure station due to denied boarding, they will be eligible for compensation for the first leg as per the provided provisions. This compensation applies when the passenger arrives at the final destination at least three hours later than the originally scheduled arrival time.
• Conditions for Denying Boarding:
  SpiceJet reserves the right to deny boarding to any passenger who is under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or where it is deemed necessary for the safety and comfort of the passenger, other passengers, or the protection of property. This includes concerns related to unsuitable attire, cleanliness issues, intoxication, or medical reasons. Boarding may also be denied in the absence of adequate travel documents, and no compensation shall be payable in such cases.

If, in SpiceJet’s reasonable opinion, a passenger's conduct is observed to endanger the aircraft or any person or property on board, obstruct the crew in the performance of their duties, or fail to comply with any crew instructions—including but not limited to those regarding smoking, consumption of alcohol or drugs, or behaviour creating inconvenience to other passengers (including under the influence of alcohol)—SpiceJet reserves the right to take all necessary steps to prevent such conduct, including restraint.

Each passenger shall be liable to pay a penalty of INR 10,000, which will be levied and must be paid immediately.

Such passengers may be refused onward carriage at any point and may be prosecuted for offences committed on board the aircraft.

Additionally, SpiceJet reserves the right to offload any such passenger from the flight and recover any and all costs (whether direct or consequential) incurred due to their behaviour. This includes, but is not limited to, air traffic control charges, diversion fuel costs, airport landing charges, necessary flight crew costs, and costs resulting from disrupted operations, flight delays, misconnections, and inconvenience to other passengers.

If, as a result of a passenger's conduct of the sort mentioned above, SpiceJet decides, in the exercise of its reasonable discretion, to divert the aircraft for the purpose of offloading that passenger, the passenger must pay all costs resulting from that diversion.

• In the event of death or bodily injury sustained by a passenger while on board a SpiceJet flight, or during the course of carriage by air, SpiceJet's liability will be determined in accordance with the applicable provisions of the Carriage by Air Act, 1972, and any subsequent amendments. If it is found that the passenger's own negligence caused or contributed to the injury, SpiceJet will be fully exempt from liability.
• SpiceJet will not be held responsible for any illness, injury, disability, or death resulting from a pre-existing medical condition or the worsening of such a condition during their travel with SpiceJet.
• Furthermore, SpiceJet expressly disclaims liability for any illness, injury, or death caused by any disease, epidemic, or pandemic, contracted on board a SpiceJet flight or during the boarding, disembarking, or related processes.
• In cases where SpiceJet assists in transporting passengers of another airline due to service disruptions in other airlines, SpiceJet assumes no responsibility for the actions or omissions of the other airline, including delays, flight status changes, or any operational issues arising from their services.

Passengers are advised to review SpiceJet's regulations and conditions, as they may vary from time to time and are crucial to ensuring compliance during travel.

• Determination of Liability

  The liability of each carrier involved in the Passenger’s journey will be determined by its own conditions of carriage. SpiceJet’s liability is subject to:

• The Convention, to the extent it applies.
• Applicable national law, to the extent not inconsistent with the above.
• Compliance with Laws

  SpiceJet is not liable for any damage arising from its compliance with or the Passenger’s failure to comply with applicable laws or Government rules and regulations.

• Recoverable Damages

  Except as specifically provided otherwise in these Conditions of Carriage or by applicable law, SpiceJet shall be liable to the Passenger only for recoverable compensatory damages for proven losses.

• Contract of Carriage

  The contract of carriage, including these Conditions of Carriage and exclusions or limits of liability, applies to SpiceJet’s authorized agents, servants, employees, and representatives to the same extent as it and they apply to SpiceJet.

• Limit on Recovery

  The total amount recoverable from SpiceJet and from such authorized agents, employees, representatives, and persons shall not exceed the amount of SpiceJet’s own liability, if any.

• Exclusions of Liability

  Nothing in these Conditions of Carriage shall waive any exclusion or limitation of SpiceJet’s liability under applicable laws unless otherwise expressly stated.

• Defenses Against Claims

  Nothing in these Conditions of Carriage shall waive any exclusion or limitation of SpiceJet’s liability or any defense available to SpiceJet under applicable laws as against any public social insurance body or any person who is liable to pay compensation or has paid compensation in respect of the death, wounding, or other bodily injury of a passenger.

• Liability for Delay

  SpiceJet shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from delays in the air carriage of passengers or baggage.

• Additional Regulations and Conditions of Carriage

  The carriage of passengers and their baggage is subject to specific regulations and conditions, which include but are not limited to:

• Carriage of unaccompanied minors, pregnant women, and passengers with medical conditions
• Restrictions on the use of electronic devices and other restricted items
• Policies regarding the consumption of alcoholic beverages onboard
• Schedules
• The flight times shown in timetables may change between the date of publication and the date the passenger actually travels. SpiceJet does not guarantee these times to the passenger, and they do not form part of the contract with us.
• Before accepting the passenger’s booking, SpiceJet will notify the passenger of the scheduled flight time in effect at that time, which will be shown on their ticket. SpiceJet may need to change the scheduled flight time after the issuance of the passenger’s ticket. The passenger must provide valid contact information (mobile number); SpiceJet will endeavour to notify passengers of any such changes. If, after purchasing the ticket, SpiceJet makes a significant change to the scheduled flight time that is unacceptable to the passenger and is unable to book them on an alternate flight that is acceptable, they will be entitled to a refund in accordance with the above-mentioned sections.

Grievance Redressal Procedure:

The below is the procedure for any grievance redressal:

• The passenger first has to write to the Customer Experience team at custrelations@spicejet.com; after reviewing the grievance, the Customer Experience agent will share the resolution.
• If the passenger is not satisfied with the response of the Customer Experience agent, then they can quote their grievance to the Nodal Officer, who may be contacted at nodalofficer@spicejet.com
• If the passenger is still unsatisfied and wishes to appeal, they can lodge an appeal with our Appellate Authority at appellateauthority@spicejet.com quoting their grievance.
