Officially known as Puducherry, this Union Territory is affectionately called Pondy. Pondicherry was the largest French colony in India which has resulted in the strong French influence in the city. The city boasts of beautiful landscapes, pleasant weather and friendly folk.

  • The people of Pondicherry celebrate festivals of all religions and scope. One of Pondicherry’s most famous festivals is Pongal, the harvest festival of South India. The Masquerade festival, celebrated during the months of March and April and reflects French culture. People throng the streets wearing colourful masks and make merry.
