Shoppers can have their full at the old bazaar that stocks traditional handicrafts, antiques and the ethnic collections of Jabalpur. They can also stroll through the big shopping malls offering a spectrum of options for budgets of all sizes. Mrignayani, a handicraft emporium run by the government stocks exquisite jute items.
Hidden galis and chowks store unique jute crafts, silver and brassware and a wide range of saris and dresses that flaunt exquisite zardosi embroidery. The Maheshwari and Chanderi saris are typical of Madhya Pradesh make for gorgeous souvenirs.

Lohri
Lohri is celebrated on 13^th January.
The festival of Lohri marks the end of the harvest season in North India. As a part of the festival, bonfires are set up and people feed the fire with popcorn, peanuts, puffed rice and other similar commodities. The feast gets on and is rounded off with traditional song and dance.
