HOW TO BOOK GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEE FARE

The Government Employee Fare can be booked while purchasing a new flight ticket through our website www.spicejet.com or via our mobile app. When searching for your desired flight, you will find the Government Employee Fare option on the home page.

Alternatively, you can seek assistance from our reservation centre, visit our airport ticketing counter in person, or utilise the services of authorised travel agents.

The Government Employee Fare is applicable for all domestic direct flights. To book under this category, passengers are required to provide their official government ID.

  1. What benefits does the Government Employee Fare offer ?
    Bookings made under the Government Employee Fare include the following benefits:
    • Complimentary seat (Non-SpiceMax)
    • Complimentary meal
    • Zero convenience fee
    • Flat fee of ₹500 for changes or cancellations of bookings
    • 50% discount on You1st (You1st is a product that offers priority services for check-in, boarding and baggage delivery)
    • 25% discount on SpiceMax (SpiceMax is a product that offers seat with more legroom, priority services and meal with beverage)
    • Hold time of 6 hours for bookings made at least 72 hours in advance
  2. What is the maximum number of seats I can purchase under this fare?
    The availability of seats is limited and operates on a first-come, first-served basis.
  3. How do I select my complimentary meal and seat with the Government Employee Fare?
    During the booking process, go to the Add-ons page, where available meals and seats will appear at zero cost. Simply select your complimentary meal and preferred seat before proceeding to the payment page.
  4. What happens if I don’t select my meal and seat on the Add-ons page?
    If you do not select a meal and seat on the Add-ons page, an error message will appear when you attempt to proceed to payment, prompting you to make your selections. The booking will not proceed until the complimentary meal and seat have been selected.
  5. Can I still get a complimentary meal if I book within 6 hours of departure?
    For Government Employee Fare bookings made within 6 hours of departure, the option to select a meal will be unavailable. In these cases, passengers are entitled to one eatable item from the available onboard option.
  6. Can my family travel using the Government Employee Fare?
    Certainly, family members of a government employee are eligible to enjoy the benefits of booking under the Government Employee Fare when the employee is transferred to a different location/city. If family members are traveling independently, they must always carry a photocopy of the official ID card of the government employee.
  7. What information should family members provide in the Government ID section on the contact details page while booking the ticket?
    Family members can enter the details of the government official's employee ID in the corresponding fields on the contact details page while booking the ticket.
  8. Which document must I present to travel under this category?
    You are required to show your government employee ID card when checking in at the airport counter.

  10. Is the Government Employee Fare applicable to all flights within the SpiceJet network?
    The Government Employee fare is only available for domestic direct flights.
  11. How can I obtain a Travel Certificate for reimbursement of my travel for a flight booked under the Government Employee Fare?

  1. The booking(s) under the category of Government Employee Official Travel (hereinafter 'GEOT') can only be made online at SpiceJet Limited's (hereinafter 'SpiceJet') website, i.e., www.spicejet.com, by opting for the category 'Government Employee Official Travel'.
  2. This facility is extended to the employees of the state government and central government, PSUs, employees of public sector banks, employees of educational institutions recognized by the state government, or those who are part of any university or educational board recognized by the central or state government.
  3. The benefits of booking under the GEOT category can also be availed of by family members of a government employee in the event of the transfer of such employee to a different location or city.
  4. Bookings made under the Government Employee Fare include a complimentary meal and the passenger’s choice of seat, subject to availability. Passengers must select their preferred meal and seat on the Add-ons page during the booking process before proceeding to payment. For bookings made within 6 hours of departure (D-6 bookings), meal selection will not be available. In these cases, passengers are entitled to one eatable item from the available onboard option. Seat and meal choices are both subject to availability.
  5. Passengers are required to carry their 'official ID card' of the government institution that they are part of. In the event that the family members of any government employee who have made the booking under this GEOT category are traveling alone, such passengers shall at all times carry a photocopy of the official ID card of the person employed in the government organization. Passengers not in possession of the above-mentioned valid official government ID shall not be accepted for check-in or boarding.
  6. The booking GEOT category can only be made for domestic sectors and direct flights.
  7. The bookings made under this category are non-transferable, and changes in the name of the passenger are not permissible.
  8. A flat fee of ₹500 per passenger per flight shall be levied for cancellation or modification of the bookings made under this category. In case of any modification in the booking under this category, the applicable fare difference shall be paid by the passenger.
  9. The inventory under the GEOT category is limited and is served on a first-come, first-served basis. In the event the customer cannot find inventory under this category, he or she may choose to travel on a different date when the inventory is available or can choose the normal class fare.
  10. SpiceJet reserves the right to modify, alter, amend, and/or change any and/or all of the terms and conditions at any time without prior notice. SpiceJet also reserves the right to withdraw and/or cancel this offer at any time without prior notice.
  11. In the event of any misuse and/or abuse by the customer, SpiceJet reserves the right to deny, withdraw, or cancel the relevant booking(s).
  12. Any person availing of the benefits or making a booking under the GEOT category is deemed to have accepted all the terms and conditions as specified herein.
  13. Any dispute arising out of the offer shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts situated in New Delhi, India.
